Re: Petty annoyances

This month I had planned on purchasing a bunch of materials for recovering the floors in the house from Lowe's. Mostly because of a better selection for our area but also because I have a Lowe's CC that I haven't used in a bit. Credit monitoring just notified me that my CC account has been closed. ...

2a) No, really. Why? NPR had a story on his "philosophical" tweets the other day. Why, why why?
Because this is The United Fucking States of America buddy. Why do you hate our brave men and women in uniform?

Ive never used it. I use low sodium chicken stock from the carton simmered with aromatics and chicken wings if I have time. What? Like a chicken wing? If you've got more than two wings and you're only making a quart or less, you might as well use water. 2 quarts and 1.5 lbs wings ish 45 mins, an on...

I've been watching Mike Holmes for years. I think he's on like his third or forth show. Last time I saw him, he was remolding his Son's house. His son is following in his footsteps and will probably get a show of his own soon. The biggest WTF I ever saw on MH was when he found the bathroom vent dead...

I would need to see a good bit more supporting evidence before I believed this story at all, even given that it wasn't so much "the USAF proposed" as "one USAF officer proposed..."

For those looking for better prices and have the space, "soup base" is the industry term.
LOL the picture makes it look like a gallon tub, but it's only 1 lb. or the equivalent of 2 jars of BTB.

Re: Small joys and random good things

Those white bin/drawer things in some of the cabinets -- it looks like they're not set directly on the cabinet shelves, but are mounted on some sort of roller/groove thing. Was that already in the cabinetry, or was it something you installed? I'm so sorry, somehow I thought I'd already answered you...

We use Better than Bullion as well, because it's low fodmap, as opposed to stock / broth. It's also a lot easier to use just a little bit, rather than wasting a whole can / carton.
Right. The ability to use just as much as needed mitigates the cost considerably.

what do you use to thicken gravy or soups that are low-carb? Like instead of a rue? I use self-loathing, personally. That always separates on me and I end up with thin gravy with huge lumps of congealed self-loathing. You can dissolve the lumps with atonement, but that's so much work and messy. I j...
