Re: Silicon Valley Disrupts Its Own Ass

What the shit is this ? Don't these people have high paying jobs? Which would serve to reinforce their sense of entitlement. “Activists at Google” helped organize a rally critical of President Donald Trump’s policies. “Militia at Google” members discussed their desire to overturn a prohibition on g...

My favorite typo so far this year:
This font is ideal for communication pieces, due to its space saving qualities, geometric elegance of its shapes, and eight wights.
Nazgul Sans?
I love this so much I want to put a ring on it.
That's precious.

Re: Petty annoyances

My experience was that everything non-trivial (like all the laptops and serious electronics) was okay with the higher voltage, and I just needed a plug adapter. But the cheap stuff I'd have needed an actual voltage stepper. Not my TV. Isn't that more than a voltage problem though. NTSC vs PAL. Or d...

Yes, I know how it will play out in practice. The courts will hold that you're allowed to practice those forms of discrimination that they like, but not those that they don't like. I don't know about that. Over time the courts tend to shore up the division lines. They'll have to find something part...

Re: Petty annoyances

Yeah, welded wire reinforcing steel is going to be a lot less of a problem than any sort of rebar. It's like a crappy net for your car. I'd say it's the other way around. Rebar is guaranteed to sink in water and that's about it. It's thick soft iron. Those thin metal wires are stiff and can poke ho...

About twenty miles away from home this morning I start to hear a scrapping or grinding sound from the undercarriage of the car. So I call AAA and they send out a guy with a flatbed tow truck and he finds a piece of re-bar wedged in not far from the radiator. You called AAA without bothering to take...

Finally found a copy of Barista off my completion documentary list. The movie was good. Standard competition format following a handful of hopefuls into the Big Event. I wish they had opted for short performance clips over montage sequences. The did for the the Big Event at least. The actual Barista...

Re: Petty annoyances

This month I had planned on purchasing a bunch of materials for recovering the floors in the house from Lowe's. Mostly because of a better selection for our area but also because I have a Lowe's CC that I haven't used in a bit. Credit monitoring just notified me that my CC account has been closed. ...
