Re: The son of "What the hell are YOU staring at?"

China Moon (very young Del Toro in a supporting role) looks good, but Madeleine Stowe is such a bloodless dud as a femme fatale.

Has anyone seen Sicario 2: The Sick-ario?
You mean James Bond vs. The Cartels? Not yet.
Nice. Was talking to my buddy tonight and he was talking about del Toro in that movie.

What's new from the writers at the Guardian, aside from looking like absolute shit?

I hate chuck overall. Even for braises. I’ve seen the chuck steak thing but can’t get past it.
What do you think of the "Flat Iron" steak? I had my butcher cut a couple from the top blade (infraspinatus). Not bad.

Don Johnson was good fun in the otherwise mediocre Guilty as Sin.

Re: Food

I rather dislike Bon Appetit's cooking videos, but their butchery videos are good. Unexpectedly relaxing viewing. Australian Butchers Guild videos are good too.

Melissa Clark (NY Times) is my go to for inspiration.

Re: Star Trek Wankery

Yaphet Kotto guest stars as a tough but fair Admiral who turns to his "retired" colleagues for one last off-the-books job. Things get a bit hairy, but with the help of their old friend Miles O'Brien they're back in time for happy hour.

David Warner plays a villain.

I heard it all be about Picard stuck on Risa with a depowered (and aged) Q (played by Ian McKellen). They solve crimes together and drink at Riker's bar.
Don Johnson and Tom Selleck as guests stars in the first season.
The bar is named "The Huladeck." Tiki-themed, of course.

Re: To DVDs and Beyond: The Netflix Thread

I also recently watched Safe which does not break any new ground, but if you can get over the weirdness of Dexter Morgan with a British accent, is an acceptably interesting murder mystery series. Safe was light and entertaining. Kind of an efficient binge-watch twist mystery. It gives you three twi...

Re: To DVDs and Beyond: The Netflix Thread

I'm bingeing Altered Carbon after we put the tr0gling to bed. The book has been on my radar for a while, but given what else I've read from Morgan, it's going to be chock full o' retarded socialism. The series is, but I can overlook that for the visuals. That show is so fucking dumb. The brain isn'...

Re: Star Trek Wankery

They fired Discovery's showrunners. New shows might be ordered, including a new Picard series with Stewart. Then there's this: The potential new shows are said to include: A series set at Starfleet Academy from creators Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz. The duo most recently developed the CW’s reb...
