Dunno, but when Miller and Bannon pre-screened it, there wasn't a dry hand in the house.

Re: Market Failure!

FWIW, I am not a tinkerer. I just think if I'd followed a different career path I might have decided to be one. Then again, my fine motor skills are terrible, so anything that involves soldering would probably have been a terrible career path for me. I wanted to be a tinkerer. I was an electronics ...

As a larger than average passenger, I can't say they do. We are the ones incuring it. I do up-buy to the economy-plus areas when possible, so probably. Sometimes I'll go for first if the price difference isn't psycho. Although not if I know I'll have to drive when I land, because I find it offensiv...

Re: Occam, Trump, and Russia

China makes a couple of moves that are favorable to his and Ivanka's business interests and suddenly Canada is the trade war adversary. That alone would be impeachable if we had a Congress with any sort of economic sense. This is where you lose me. This would not be impeachable in any place where h...

Re: Occam, Trump, and Russia

I think Russian troll farms + email hack (which solidified the "Hillary is a crook who stole the election from Bernie" theme) is probably enough to have pushed some people to make that snap fickle decision that they then spent the intervening months justifying. And it's worth remembering that the R...

Re: Occam, Trump, and Russia

Julian Sanchez says that the Carter Page FISA looks about as above-board as any FISA can get, on a few levels. I tend to trust him on that somewhat because he's definitely not a blind FISA booster. (He wrote a bunch about how frustrating it is to finally have a group of people worrying about FISA a...

If mueller ends with manafort and no material charges on pres, is that enough to say no obvious influence? (This is my take - if you can’t get anything better than maybe obstruction you don’t have much.) Wait, influence on Trump himself, or influence on the election? Also testing temp on various th...

Oh duh. Forgot radiator hoses.

And you may not get steam if it's a slow leak that just dropped coolant levels.

Re: Petty annoyances

Could be fan, fan belt, coolant levels, or most seriously, water pump. Well, cracked/warped head leading to coolant loss is most serious. Or cracked block. But those are unlikely. Most serious probable cause is water pump, which ain't that serious.

Y'know how there are exercises where you try to do a task while people whisper in your ear to help neurotypicals simulate/understand schizophrenia? We need something like that for ADD, because seriously I can't imagine how anyone COULDN'T understand forgetting to set an oven timer while cooking.

Re: It's true, Your Honor; these Ghostbusters have no dicks.

It was a missed opportunity because all of those actors could've done better with better direction and writing. But mostly it was fine, although I was mortified for Bill Murray. I thought Leslie Jones did well, and the others performed serviceably. Jared was also fine as Tour Guide Jared (apparently...

And none of this is the point. I want someone to make it easy for me so that when I'm a dumbass and have no idea how long ago I put it in the oven, I can push a button and find out what to set my timer for so my pizza doesn't come out either burned or still frozen in the middle. Resolved: I should've been an electrical engineer so I could build all the crazy stuff I have ideas for. I'm fairly certain I could make a nice little bit of cash if I built a timer on my oven that just quietly recorded the amount of time since I last closed or opened the door. Almost every oven the...
