Re: #noshame

My favorite part of canvassing or lit dropping the weekend after Halloween is eating the occasional piece of candy I find on someone's driveway. Well hello stranger. Where have you been? He's been eating driveway candy. Can't you read? :P Indeed, I have been. Some kid on Greenleaf Avenue in Parma H...

Yeah, he's a conservative troll. Best known for sending out a bunch of fake tweets about emergency conditions (flooding , subways shudowns, power shutdowns, etc.) in NYC in the midst of Sandy.

Vote or Die

I have to say that a bunch of far lefties losing tonight losing combined with the house flip is good on net. Wish there was a way for Gillum and DeSantis to both lose.

Re: Vote or Die

This is about the freak out about the black panthers in GA supporting Abrams while holding guns. While Kemp was all “Woo 2A,” when it’s rednecks on pickup trucks doing the same.

Looks like the right found people exercising their 2nd amendment rights that they don’t like. I wonder why those guys in Georgia doing open carry are so scary?

Re: DB's absolutely amazing sci/tech thread

The last SI element to be defined by a physical artifact, the kilogram, will finally get a definition based entirely on a physical constant.

Apparently, there are a series of Monster Mash sequels that are worse than the original.

The boys made little jack-o-laterns. Some fucker stole the one Dojito made. When he found out that it had been taken, he said, "That's not nice! Bad bad bad!"

Re: DOOM! (Insert extra Os as you see fit)

As someone who knows their valuation hurdles, there is no chance that Red Hat can hit any of them in any reasonable sense at that valuation. That indicates to me that they’re overspending because the market has gotten irrational. Especially if they're sincere about maintaining RH's open-source natu...

Re: Vote or Die

The problem with gerrymandering today is that modern computational power makes it so that you can do wild things. My favorite is the N.Y. baconmander that gives every district to the Dems.

I would totally be down for a thread titled "I got a lot of problems with you people and now you're gonna hear about it!"

As a former IBM M&A guy, that Red Hat acquisition is something. Definitely tells me we're getting pretty close to the top.

Re: Vote or Die

Again, the GOP is all about voter suppression and the Democrats are all about message suppression. I submit that however delusional The Story the GOP tells itself, voter suppression does in fact favor the GOP. Whereas message suppression is elephants all the way down. The whole, "Actually, we're th...

What are you drinking?

Aberlour A’Bunadh. It’s aged in sherry casks and bottled at cask strength. It’s hot, but a great scotch for those that love bourbon.

Re: Occam, Trump, and Russia

Is funny though that expansionist empires became empires by kicking everyone’s ass exactly as you’d expect then you get to an exception and everyone wants to make that the general case. The same reason making an argument about genocide always leads to "well you didn't prevent this genocide either" ...

Re: Vote or Die

The thing that I don’t get as being partisan is election security. I know everyone fights the last war, but there’s no reason why China wants to Trump to get re-elected. Also, if Russia wants to sow chaos, give the Dems the House and make the Senate 50-50.

Vote or Die

It’s part of their narrative beyond being part of their strategy. The right feels it is constantly running against Santa Claus so it creates conditions favorable for “adults who have to pay for things” to be a majority of voters. The left believes in its bones that nobody really is culturally right...
