Re: Masculinity, so fragile

Perhaps the video is more flattering, but based on the still vevo is showing, one could be forgiven for thinking the video encourages male-goblin pairings. I watched about half of it. I'd say it goes past goblin, though as far as I can tell there's no male involvement nor actual pairings. There wer...

The Heartbreak Ridge scene where they use Mario Van Peebles's credit cards to call in fire support actually happened during the actual Grenada military operation.
I had no idea Mario Van Peebles served his country. I should thank him for his service.

Eliminate deductions first, then argue about the scale.
Cosign. I'm much more concerned about the complexity of the tax code than tax rate. I'm also especially opposed to individual income tax in it's potential for Big Brotheresque abuse.

Looking back it kind of amazes me that anything positive militarily was made of Grenada. It was a complete clusterfuck and the only real...

Honestly, the best way to manage the wealth tax is tax cap gains as income (inflation adjusted) and eliminate estate tax step-up basis.

What does that mean?

Re: Petty annoyances

Hmmmm I remember reading something about how price and service are linked together and quality goes up while price goes down under certain conditions where the customer can choose not to purchase. I think there's a name for it.

What about the M-O-U-S-es? Mooches Of Unusual Size? I don't believe they exist. I've just sucked one mooch of your life away. I might one day go as high as five, but I really don't know what that would do to you. So, let's just start with what we have. What did this do to you? Tell me. And remember...

Re: Food

Wine tasting analysis here. There's a difference between bitter and sour. Sour is the presence of acidity - like a lemon or vinegar. It has the effect of eliciting saliva and you feel it in your jaws in extremes. Bitter is like black coffee and greens like kale. It is unrelated to the presence of a...

Re: Food

Warren, that's a really good idea I'm annoyed I haven't tried. For shrimp ceviche - even real deal places do a par boil to get them pink before doing the acid bath. Doesn't hurt either way but if you want that color that's how people get it. It's the only seafood I par boil in a ceviche. Yeah, I wi...

Re: Podcasts - Watcha listening to?

Aside from possibly Mumia, who on that list are we supposed to like? And why isn’t Jonathan Pollard on the list? The list is not complete. The snippet I quote omits the general thesis which is that time and again there is a counter narrative insisting that people convicted of major crimes are innoc...

Re: Podcasts - Watcha listening to?

The 5thC continues to p0wn public discourse. This week was so enjoyable I relistened to it. Very unusual for me. Favorite bit, Moynihan pitches a book idea ... I had a book idea (a long time ago) just called Guilty , and it's about all of the people that were supose like: Leonard Peltier - Guilty, M...

A mooch-year is a unit of distance not time.
Spacetime is a inseparable four-dimensional continuum, so ultimately all of existence can be expressed in Mooches.
