Re: the entirely civil and thoughtful israel thread

She claimed that she never participated in boycott campaigns in the past. So it was because she was part of a group that advocated for BDS. Not that the latter is dispositive of anything as every has joined a group where they don’t agree with 100% of what they advocate. For some reason my alumni as...

Some people like to juggle geese, indeed. I never realized 'juggle' was a euphemism.

As it turns out, he was in Baton Rouge for work. He's not weighed down by material possessions (read that as: dirt broke and doesn't have much stuff) so most of his important things are in Louisiana with him. I'm just glad he's safe and watching the chaos from afar.

Re: Random Observations C.A (306 pages is enough)

I have a hand knitted dick sock, because my stock response for years to the question "What are you wearing to <event>?" has been "Flips-flops and a dick sock". My mother-in-law got tired of me saying this, so she knitted me a dick sock. I'm not sure how she thought that was going to help, since afte...

JasonL's unifying theory about my smirk aversion gains another data point. I am not familiar with this theory. link? Nothing has yet deterred me from the thought that a benign dictatorship is probably the best form of government, but it's not long-term stable or sustainable.

a 3D-printed handgun made of plastic, the same material used in Lego blocks I hope they meant that it's the exact same type of plastic used in Legos. Because otherwise that's needless sensationalizing. Material science is not my strong suit, but I'd be surprised if it's the same plastic. Legos are ...

When people can vote you out and you actually leave even though you have a military command, that's big thing. Yes. This is pretty much the last "This is what makes America great" that I'm hanging on to. The high rate of contractual adherence. High-trust societies ftw, which is one of the reasons I...

Careful tr0g! Someone may use that in 30 years to prove you're a pedo. If I am being considered for any sort of federal appointment, the world will be in far worse shape than anyone should care to contemplate. Also, that statement will be so far down the list of objectionable things I've said in pu...

I dimly recall SUVs have different rules regarding safety and emissions as well, so you don't have to put as much engineering into meeting the standards. But that may have changed.

I'm just still stuck on "Don't waste eggs." How exactly does he think ovulation works? There's a "release egg now" button on the cervix and the wang pushes it while you're boinking? I'm pretty sure the implication is that she should find a man at age 18 and stick with him so he has her eggs at his ...

So, we has house. We drove over after closing and the idiot son of the homeowner had left the front door open. Not unlocked, mind you, but wide open. So my first task was to replace the locks, just in case and to keep vandals, etc, out of the joint while we do everything else. The semi-abandoned car...

We'd have creme brulee every night until the wife and child got sick of it. We have done that. The issue is that anything dessert related means extra fat and sugar this dude doesn't need. Fortunately the hens are slowing down and we don't light the coop in the winter. I'm not a big sweets guy, so I...

After that, get architect started on plans and estimates so we can get a construction loan. Wade through all the crap left on the property and decide what stays and what goes. Theoretical debates on what we call ourselves! My favorite part of libertarianism! More seriously, as long as we're generally working towards less state interference and towards more individual rights and liberty I'm good with it.

I know way too many people with CHLs to think waving a knife around is a behavior that doesn't end with you getting shot. Made garlic spread the other day. Put as many cloves of garlic as would fit in a ramekin, olive oil to cover, bake at 350 for one hour. Dumped it all in a cup and used the boat motor to turn it into mush. Added some salt to taste. Yum. Next time I'll drain off some of the oil before mixing as it has...
