Re: Bigger, better, and more hardcore than ever...

Sooooo, after a long wait for money to show up we (my lady friend K and I) bought round trip tickets to Costa Rica, where we will be wintering for at least two months. Three days in a hotel for New Years in San Jose, and then backpacking around and laying on beaches and surfing and hiking and laying...

Re: Groping Resistance Growing

Matt Kernan says "On November 21, 2010, I was allowed to enter the U.S. through an airport security checkpoint without being x-rayed or touched by a TSA officer. This post explains how." I haven't listened to the audio yet. Whaddya all think? EDIT TO ADD: Hopefully this is legit and repeatable. I'm ...

Re: I don't wanna see that!!!!

I watched the first episode of Steven Seagal: Lawman on hulu. Wow. It's worse than COPS, unfortunately. You now how sometimes on COPS, the cameraman will catch up with the fleeing suspect before the officers do? Not here. In fact, even during the Chase Scene, the camera is focused exclusively on SS'...

Re: Going to NY ComiCon!!

So, here is some cool info and video of the ToroFlux, from a competitors site unfortunately. But it is still fun to watch, so check 'em out.

Ummm, can I upload a pic from my PC to here? Do I need to PhotoBucket? I have a couple from the con....

Re: Going to NY ComiCon!!

So I could only take analog pics today. I'll post as soon as I can get them all digital-like. Needless to say, Cobra Commander has some serious blackmail threats to deal with as soon as I put my scrapbook together. Also, THE BEST Boba and Jengo Fett gear I Have Ever Seen. Seriously froody shit. I ta...

Re: Going to NY ComiCon!!

Thanks to Maux and JD for a great welcome to NYC! Beers were good (what was that the Punk IPA at GingerMan?) the company was warm and interesting, and Hayek was only mentioned once in passing, if you can believe that. It must say something that I was recognized because "You looked kinda confused, an...

So my bus back to NJ leaves from the PABT at W 40th and 9th around 11 pm. Unless the intertubes and NJ transit are conspiring to fuck me over.

Sounds fine! Do you know a place? I'm more inclined to a bar or rock/comedy club, as opposed to a boom boom dance club.

Re: Going to NY ComiCon!!

I will be leaving NH tonight, and arriving in New York in the morning after a layover in CT. We are setting up the booth tomorrow and then going to Jersey to drop off traveling stuff and settle in at our hosts' place. I'm not sure what the schedule for Thursday night is, but the convention ends at 7...

Going to NY ComiCon!!

I will be traveling to New York City to work at ComiCon for my friends Micheal and Jennifer, who own and run TryOut Toys. BBCode sucks to write on my iPod, so here are some uninembedded links for your edification. http://www.newyorkcomiccon.com/en/NYCC/Overview/ http://tryouttoys.com/ I would love t...

Katamari is awesome. It's also a game that anyone's girlfriend can pick up and play, which broadens it's utility.

Re: Damn database problems

Is there a way to keep the margins in check? Some recent topics (OFFS, to name one) let the text crawl wayyyyyy over to the right and make me scroll laterally to read, which is annoying.

Re: Damn database problems

Is there a way to increase the time I can view the Gryll before being asked to rejoin? Does it count time from the last post, or last login? I keep getting pushed out after a few hours, and since I don't hang out every day (anymore), I generally have some catching up to do before I post anything.

Timothy, was it you who articulated that [BB arguing Anarchy=Goatse]? Because I used that story in reverse to explain Goatse to someone who hadn't seen it.

Re: The Popular Front

I voted Rad, but I believe that the best definition for 'libertarian' is "One who would choose the option which gives the most liberty", not "One who would choose the option which produces less government". I like to call myself a minarchist at parties where I might sound exotic.

Re: The Popular Front

Even when I try to seriously argue for anarcho-capitalism by making a post online, I can't hardly do it without linking to other websites that I think explain it better than I can, or to present historical evidence I can't memorize or even effectively summarize. And I'm pretty sure most people don'...

The AnarChrist Roves the Toobs Agin!

Billiam of the Beckshire finds a Agitator thread he can sink his teeth into.

Re: What are you reading?

I'm finishing Otherland , By Tad Williams. It reminds me of some of William (I call him Bill) Gibson's later stuff, a la Virtual Light, with less tech-y edges and more emotional content. Well written and the plot moves between some disparate settings that keep you guessing without feeling lost or s...
