Re: Orange is the new President

Step backward relative to then, but arguably a step forward relative to the election of Trump.

Putin's trolling is so epic that he will probably be cast in the next Tolkien movie.

School lunches will be required to serve lobster rolls once a week due to the completion of the food pyramid: drawn butter, lobster, hot dog bun and celery.
My anesthesia is still wearing off, so I'm missing this joke.
Never mind, I get it now.

Re: Orange is the new President

In all seriousness, Trump managed to pick two Republicans in Alabama that both lost their race. How much air cover does Congress give him now? Also, there are now just 51 Republicans in the Senate, Corker already voted "no" on the tax bill, and Collins is threatening to vote "no" if she doesn't lik...

Not to mention responding to "it's not mandatory" with "But I swore on a Bible! And so did Trump!" as if the one contradicts the other. "Whaddaya MEAN, it's not mandatory to be married? I'm married! And so is Donald Trump!" Somebody should tell the fine defenders Christian marriage just how many tr...

Re: No touching! - sexual impropriety thread

Generally the first allegation is followed pretty quickly by a bunch more. Not with Keillor. Reporters haven't even been able to pry out details of the original allegation. There's got to be more to this story. Either Keillor did something worse/more than he claims or his accuser is up to no good. A...

Re: No touching! - sexual impropriety thread

One heuristic that's held up pretty well in all this is that these guys never do it just once. It's been a couple weeks and there's been no report (anonymous or otherwise) of a second victim. It doesn't prove that he's innocent, but it's a reason to be suspicious and wait for more, rather than treat...

I thought the only gryllpropriate stance was that tipping is economically inefficient and servers should only get what the owners want them to get.

If Moore gets elected in spite of Franken and Conyers stepping down, I think some of my lefty friends will go completely over the edge. We're talking full-on hospitalization. The hardest thing for me will be figuring out which lefty friends I have to say "What they did to Franken was TEH WORST THING...

In one email dated June 14, 2016, Goldstone forwarded a CNN story on Russia's hacking of DNC emails to his client, Russian pop star Emin Agalarov, and Ike Kaveladze, a Russian who attended the meeting along with Trump Jr., Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner and Manafort, describing the news as "eeril...

They have to. Sacrificing Franken is surely, in part, a desperate play to claim high ground against Moore. I'd love to assume it's all just principled opposition to what Franken did, but come on.
