Re: Orange is the new President

I would like a series of trump commemorative coins with various triumphs of his presidency - glowing orb, gardening with Macron, etc. - but the image used for trump is the Brandy Chastain bust image. If I can't have this I might be done with capitalism.

Re: OFFS: The Forsakening

So high moisture melty cheeses have to be segmented from other discussions of cheese quality. They are primarily melty. I’d argue jack does the thing better than most because chilies help the meh.

There are a couple of brands of bulk grocery jack that are notably awful though.

Sorry, but:

Going Gaga about the royals > whining about going Gaga about the royals.
That sort of thing is the nature of this thread though. There's some kind of "it" that someone doesn't get.

This is part of the death spiral of no savings. People will spend astronomical money on a forever basis so they don't have a one time event in the $1k zone. See also extended auto warranties. Low deductible high premium insurance. Anything so you don't have to have savings.

Dryer heating element died. Unit not that old so we just got it fixed for like $150 even though replacement value is only probably $500 ish for the thing we have. Guy offered us an appliance home warranty program - $50 per month every month forever so you don't have to pay $150 for replacement of $...

Having some bar friends who are just hitting 30 is weird because they were all emo kids and talk about the cure and bauhaus like something kinda old timey but classy thing your grandpa listened to.

That meat will not be cooked to USDA temp specs, no. 165F is a joke and a set of chains. I separate raw protein from non protein cutting and I wash knives and board yes. I wash my hands after handling raw but not really at any point after that unless I have oil I want to get rid of. To be for real h...

I hate them. I don't understand what they are supposed to be doing. When people talk about nice shoulders, a window that shows your humeral head framed by fabric is not what they are talking about.

I dunno about better but the behavior is inconsistent with the “owned by the kremlin” narratives. You have to really stretch to make that fit.

My wife texted me from mall of America a series of increasingly frustrated shopping anecdotes. They eventually got so bad I suggested she go back to the hotel and sign up for Stitch Fix or similar immediately. She’s the best use case they could ever hope for.
