Re: Observations of the Random sort

I'm not wading into this very far Jennifer because there's no point. What I will say is there are better and worse versions of the invade argument. I had a specific set of concerns and a set of assumptions about the range of potential outcomes. I weighed those incorrectly and was wrong in my assessm...

Re: Observations of the Random sort

In coaching and in business decisions and probably in public policy as well, I am a believer in giving the most weight to the quality of reasoning and process of executing plans over a series of decisions that mattered and much less weight to outcomes. This is the Joe Flacco is not better than Dan ...

Re: Observations of the Random sort

That observation, more than any particular other thing, is why my perspective is slowly shifting to dooom from my general belief in progress and long run triumph of a set of conditions we know basically work. What is definitely the case - the neoliberal consensus has produced the greatest prosperity...

Re: Heroes and zeroes of the animal kingdom

Aside - what passes for comedy in my house. The most significant governing section of IRC related to deferred compensation plans is section 409a. I was in the middle of deferred comp stuff at work, got home, made something on the stovetop and I asked the wife to hand me the 409a like 4 times - getti...

Re: Random Observations C.A (306 pages is enough)

Kmart has been nothing but terrible for as long as I can remembe. Its continued existence baffled me once Walmart, even the bad wal marts, came about. Sears has coasted on being the easiest local option for appliances and appliance parts until they finally died.

What percent of minority moms are : a) anti vaxxers; b) scared of everything other than white people; c) drive the HOA to action against lawn and shutter color violations, and so on. It's really "college educated, stay at home, suburbanite, household income in the top 2 quintiles", plus maybe anothe...

I’m a lover of the open plan and the base assumptions of such spaces is use of seating to create separation. For the most part irrespective of anything else, if you can’t deal with seating defining space you need lots of little rooms.

Re: Home $weet Home

Could you do low table / stand / shelving halfway across the separation into the dining room, put the TV on that, love seat where david's setup is now facing the TV, Davids setup in 8' sec angled toward tv, kiddie corner along 11' section, something something? IOW embrace the separation, but make it...

Market Failure!

I thought Mack Weldon was a CIA agent who did what needed to be done in the 80s. You can catch up on his adventures in the periodical section of your grocery store, usually next to guns and ammo which this month is highlighting an AMAZING 1911 that is totally tactical and totally different from any ...

Re: Putin on the Writs

If the Hill report is true - that there was a meeting with between DNC lawyers and the FBI before FISA warrant was issued, that's not a good look. I do believe there were active Russia attempts to influence the election but I also believe the FISA process is politically compromised and we need a lot...
