Those all seem like perfectly cromulent reasons to abandon liberal democracy. The state doesn't exactly need permission to destroy you.

Re: Iran (so far away)

Like in Fujairah, dozens of ships ranging from massive oil tankers to smaller pleasure boats, traditional dhows and cargo vessels ply the waters of the strait and the Gulf of Oman. The navies of Iran, Oman, the UAE and the U.S. regularly patrol, but the waters are vast and lit only by the moonlight...

I had reason to look up why Hasidics are antivax. Turns out they aren't generally. The minority who are do so because they are defying their rabbis . About 9% of Americans think vaccines are not safe, but Minke is unusual even among that vocal minority. She is an ultra-Orthodox Jew, part of a commun...

I was on some kind of Tinder date or something with a fairly attractive woman who was not shy about showing her tattoos. Her housemates were around and they were pretty nice. They had servants and servants quarters, but I never actually saw they servants that I can recall. Naturally these perfectly ...

#yesallsharks https://d.newsweek.com/en/full/421291/01-29-sharkeatingshark-01.jpg In what was likely a turf war at a Seoul aquarium, a female sand tiger shark has eaten a male banded hound shark. It took the 8-year-old female 21 hours to eat the 5-year-old male inside a tank at the COEX Aquarium. A...

This is why you need a lot of money before you have kids. Retaining lawyers to sue your school district on the weekly gets expensive.

Say what you will about his policies, his demeanor, and the fact that he is a semiliterate ignoramus, but Trump truly is the greatest source in presidential history of zen koans upon which to meditate.

Dark Phoenix was okay but supremely forgettable. It would have been better if the screentime they wasted on the aliens angle was devoted to the family dynamics that ended up being the real focus anyway. B+ Cyclops action.

I wonder if its fair to blame the party for something they're not actually doing. PACs are by definition not affiliated with a political party. And I can't imagine Republican politicians would approve of these activities since they get so little out of it. It seems like these huckster PACs are plugg...

Focus is a charming movie that gets a lot of mileage out of Will Smith and Margot Robbie's charisma, but the tonal whiplash might be enough to keep it out of the pantheon of great con movies.

Do you have any evidence that they receive an education?
Well they're sentenced to it anyway.

Yes. Suicide solutions should be available OTC. Companies can work on making them painless and foolproof, which is the big barrier to the popular suicide alternatives currently available at your local hardware emporium.
