Season 2 of Pose has been dissappointing. The Expanse isn't going to drop until December and Better Call Saul, not till 2020.
So what's worth watching/binging? I hear The Boys is pretty good. What else?
Have you seen Babylon Berlin? We've been enjoying that a lot.

Re: What the hell should I be staring at?

So I just finished Neon Genesis Evangelion. I also recently watched Dallos . I'm enjoying catching up on a corner of culture I'm largely unfamiliar with. What are some other anime series I should watch? I'm looking for reasonably complex/mature, minimal 'if my wife walks in she'll think I'm a perv'.

OFFS what could possibly go wrong:

Screen All Adult Patients for Drug Abuse, National Panel Urges

It should then be insisted that doctors start every appointment with a reading of Miranda rights.

Mark Morgan, acting commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, also defended the Mississippi arrests on CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday.

Morgan said they were not "raids," but "targeted law enforcement operations."

Been spending a few days in Santa Cruz, lovely place really, but the soft tyranny of traffic calming is out of control here. Screen Shot 2019-08-11 at 10.00.41 AM.png The barrier itself is annoying-but-whatever, but this sign just pushes my irrational petty annoyance buttons. First of all, chastisin...

Whichever Koch family it might be, the most important libertarian point is that going after employers of illegal immigrants would be even worse than going after illegal immigrants. It is really quite horrifying to me how comments to make e-verify mandatory are gaining steam. It hits enough points o...

reading the least charitable interpretation into a statement. This was my thought. Of course tone and attitude would affect perception quite a bit, and people do sometimes just sense when they’re being condescended to. But I could see myself expressing something similar and meaning the complete opp...

That whole case stunk to high heaven. And of course Trump is happy for the murderer who walked.

As usual Trump isn't making sense. He's criticizing the prosecution for getting him the result he wanted anyway.

Trans women in sports is a minefield I will not enter. I won't enter it because it soooo doesn't matter except to people who put too much emphasis on records or winning over personal growth and participation. It reminds me of how excited I was as a kid listening to American Top 40. Or sports record...

I had an absurd moment today- I was cutting off a piece of duct tape and sliced open some flesh on the inside of my finger, and just as this happened and I'm bleeding profusely all over things, the next song up on youtube's autoplay started, The First Cut is the Deepest. Whoa.

I thought "surely not the International Order of Odd Fellows! I mean, not much sets you more apart as odd than atheism". Which unfortunately led me to this site. Because *of course*. Lutherans are so completely paranoid. When I was growing up literally everything was a false god or a cult.

Speaking of hate watching, just finished Big Little Lies. Meryl Streeps character was just so adept at pushing buttons I just wanted to punch my screen. Laura Dern was practically a cartoon character she was so craven. Reese Witherspoon reminds you of the popular girl you hated in high school. Then ...

The lady behind the counter took my ID and disappeared for a long time. The people you're encouraging them to appeal to aren't going to be paying attention for at least 6 months. I forget this all the damn time. Some sort of butterfly-effect movie type dream. Can't recall details leading up to it but after the altering event a long slow motion montage of changes, and one of the unintended effects was a political change of power, showing things like political figures with a cigar disappearing from one person...

I see Andrew is a prime demographic for SMOD. I need to know SMOD’s position on carbon tax vs cap and trade before committing. And while I’m fairly sure it will be extremely pro abortion, there are those billion year old tweets that sounded kinda speceist. It can claim all he wants that it never in...

Peter Bogdonovich (sp?) did a documentary of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers which I found very good, titled Runnin' Down a Dream. Just finished all 4 hours(!) of this over 2 days. Very enjoyable, thanks for the recommendation! Is it mostly concert footage? Not really. There is concert footage, but...

What I found frustrating in GFCI instructions is "here's where you put the green, red, and white wires" (or whatever colors they were) and here I am in my wall staring at one black wire and one white. While I'm not familiar with the individual childhoods of rock stars, bands like Pink Floyd and Rush (or for that matter every Prog Rock band ever) weren't selling themselves as underdogs.
Keeping in mind Rush first got themselves on the map with a song called "Working Man".
