Re: The son of "What the hell are YOU staring at?"

Has anyone watched El Camino ? Any spoiler-free comments? I'm not sure I really care about of the remaining characters in the Breaking Bad world. I like Better Call Saul because I like Bob Odenkirk and it has Mike, but a post BB show won't have either of them. It's basically fan service. It doesn't...

Re: Cool little things

And I'm sorry if I missed it, but what accompaniment were you playing there? I play viola; they were hiring a backing orchestra each stop on the tour. E-drums are actually pretty great onstage in my experience. Our band switched to them a couple years ago, and it really makes a difference as far as...

Re: Cool little things

Townshend did some windmills, Daltrey twirled the mic, and the audience had a good time. As much as I'm skeptical of nostalgia acts it's hard to begrudge everyone having a good time, and like everybody else they were an important band to teenage me so I was ecstatic to be onstage with them even thou...

Also, execution is 99% of everything, so a firm that deploys an ordering system that scales 10X faster than they can fulfill has not innovated, they have failed.

Re: The son of "What the hell are YOU staring at?"

Amazon Prime has a movie called Dreamchild from 1985. It's about an old woman who was, in her childhood, the Alice of Alice in Wonderland and muse of Charles Dodgson, as she remembers and reevaluates their relationship. It's a rather unique movie. About the only thing I could compare it to is Death ...

Thinking of it that way just sounds like getting over losing a fight to a runt nerd by beating up a kid in a wheelchair. Like there's no way to come out of that not looking like a horrible bully.

The A.B. saga is surreal (at one point this weekend a news page showed like 3 contradictory headlines about him) enough, but I'm left feeling sorry for whoever got cut to make room for him on the Pats roster. Imagine you make the final cut! For a perennial super bowl contender! Then this toxic clown...

Re: Tiny Triumphs

I managed to do an end run around TSA. Was flying out and back the same day, and I carelessly forgot to take my pocket knife (which was a birthday present so I attach some sentimental value to it) out of my pocket. This happened once before and I was able to mail it, however this time it was 4:50 am...

Season 2 of Pose has been dissappointing. The Expanse isn't going to drop until December and Better Call Saul, not till 2020.
So what's worth watching/binging? I hear The Boys is pretty good. What else?
Have you seen Babylon Berlin? We've been enjoying that a lot.

So I just finished Neon Genesis Evangelion. I also recently watched Dallos . I'm enjoying catching up on a corner of culture I'm largely unfamiliar with. What are some other anime series I should watch? I'm looking for reasonably complex/mature, minimal 'if my wife walks in she'll think I'm a perv'.

OFFS what could possibly go wrong:

Mark Morgan, acting commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, also defended the Mississippi arrests on CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday.

Morgan said they were not "raids," but "targeted law enforcement operations."

As usual Trump isn't making sense. He's criticizing the prosecution for getting him the result he wanted anyway.

Trans women in sports is a minefield I will not enter. I won't enter it because it soooo doesn't matter except to people who put too much emphasis on records or winning over personal growth and participation. I had an absurd moment today- I was cutting off a piece of duct tape and sliced open some flesh on the inside of my finger, and just as this happened and I'm bleeding profusely all over things, the next song up on youtube's autoplay started, The First Cut is the Deepest. Whoa.
