Re: Spearfishing With Luke: The Last Jedi thread with spoilers!

It *was* a commercial for Star Wars land. As I understand it, both Anaheim and Orlando have significant Star Wars presence in their parks (and have had it for a while) They're building a whole new "Star Wars Land" in Anaheim, and probably in in Orlando too. First major addition to the flagship park...

When even Dr. Oz is saying "lol heart disease FTW" in a White House press conference, you can be pretty sure something is rotten.

I learned all I needed to know in the first episode, which is about how blond guys fall for blonde chicks and not their brown-haired girl-next-door long-term quasi-love interests. Even though BHGNDLTQLIs will do freaky shit you can't even imagine. And blonde chicks won't even consider until college...

Any other year if be all-in on the Vikings, but the idea of a team playing the Superbowl in their own stadium rubs me the wrong way.

Re: Orange is the new President

It's somewhat mildly surprising because I would have guessed that Melania is the one that has longstanding Eastern European mob connections that would be happy to do a favor for her. (or maybe that's why it seemed to stop after 2007). Nah, suspect it was more "so, I get all the benefits of being a ...

Re: Observations of the Random sort

This is a generational thing. Every goddamn person between the ages of 25 and 40 (and every woman between 25 and 50) knows who she is. Dawson's Creek was fucking inescapable. I'm a little surprised Thoreau doesn't recognize her, since he's so desperate to tie the '90s up in his basement and make a s...

Re: Observations of the Random sort

So you can know if he deserves money for reshoots when his costar didn't/wasn't able to negotiate that into her contract. Other way around. Williams had a reshoot clause in her contract, Wahlberg didn't. Meaning he was able to say "lol fuck you pay me." Awkward thing is, they're represented by the ...

Well, if you're willing to blow it on "the warm feeling of helping your fellow man," you could be done with it in a few minutes. "Hi food bank, here's a billion dollars, it's now your problem."

Re: Private Money!

The wild wild west of 18 months ago? No, six years ago. 18 months ago, things were changing rapidly. The Feds were moving against foreign exchanges and cracking down on domestic exchanges. To keep servicing US customers required a commitment to regulatory compliance, made more challenging by not ha...

Re: Private Money!

No, Warren, you said it was "super easy to spend crypto". Now please explain how I take my existing $20 FRN and transfer its value to my buddy over here via BTC. Or, if it's easier, tell me how to aquire the equivalent value in BTC without trading US FRN, and transfer it to him. Your choice. You're...

Re: Private Money!

Friendly Korea just banned BTC. Let's see how that works out for them. Well, considering they did it to cut off a funding and resupply vector for the North Koreans, I'd imagine they're pretty clear-eyed about what this will and won't help. I mean, having an easy way to move money to fund espionage ...

I'm nervous because there's nothing fundamental that should be driving this degree of growth speed. We're not recovering from a recession, nor is there anything specific happening that should be causing this. Any time that comes up, I start to think irrational exuberance.

Re: The Sheriff Joe Arpaio Memorial Prison Reform Thread

Nixon fell from the highest office in the country, as a result of a resignation. Joe was voted out, then convicted. And was defiant all through. This was entirely predictable.

If belichick and Brady are both going full fuck you, I like lebatards idea that Tom should lobby for a coaching staff of McAdoo, Fox, and chuck pags. “You think it was all your coaching? Hold my beer” Gotta go with Jeff Fisher. After the way the Rams let him get riiiiiiiight up to the all-time loss...
