Re: Antonio Brown's Used Helmet Emporium -- NFL 2019

https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status/1165435636893016064?s=19 Filed to ESPN: Andrew Luck has informed the Colts he is retiring from the NFL, per source. There will be a press conference Sunday to make it official, but Luck is mentally worn down, and now checking out. Gotta wonder how different th...

Re: Random Observations C.A (306 pages is enough)

I don't think it takes a particularly conservative viewpoint to be skeptical of the motivations behind the NYT running a series about how America was Really and Truly founded on slavery. Does anyone actually believe it's going to be a scholarly, dispassionate inquiry? It doesn't take a rocket surge...

The weird thing about the last few days is that buying Greenland is probably the least bad idea Trump has had. After all, we acquired something like 50% of the current US land area through purchases. Fucking guarantee this came up because someone tried to explain to Trump why everyone wants a claim...

Re: Dancing With the Dems

This is horribly cynical of me (big surprise) but some of these goobers know, in their heart of hearts, they aren’t gonna be the nom. They also know they aren’t getting the VP slot, a cabinet position, or any other of the usual rewards from the party. This suggests they are in it for personal enric...

Re: Intellectualism: Dark and Webbed

Is the argument that something like general intelligence as a cognitive analog to something like general athleticism does not exist or that is isn't measured by the IQ test? I'm fine with dropping IQ as a nonsense area of study if you concede to drop every developmental, psychological, and social s...

Sorry the Midwest rust factory terk er jerbs contingent is an important target for both parties. That's not what I'm talking about. It's the unspoken implication that "none of these politicians actually believe this stuff, it's just a put-on for votes" even though one of the major parties has spent...

2) Regarding IQ and other cognitive tests, they correlate with too many things to mean nothing. They don't mean everything, and I wouldn't judge an individual based on one test, but if you gave me a roomful of kids with high IQ scores and I couldn't get any of them to learn physics then you should ...

So, if I think IQ is about as scientific as a Myers-Briggs Test (and almost as useful in determining future success) does that make me an "IQ denier," or just "someone with a low tolerance for pseudoscientific bullshit?"

It's a persistent fallacy of the left that "administrative bloat" ...form the difference between costs here and costs in other countries when the evidence is perfectly clear that it's provider costs being double to triple everyone else's. That's not accurate. Administrative costs in the US are twic...

Think it's more he's trying to avoid forcing Trump to make himself even more suspicious by vetoing the bill. None of his constituents actually care, so he's safe, but there's probably enough marginal cases in PAMIWI make reelection more sketchy.
