Re: Random Observations C.A (306 pages is enough)

I don't think it takes a particularly conservative viewpoint to be skeptical of the motivations behind the NYT running a series about how America was Really and Truly founded on slavery. Does anyone actually believe it's going to be a scholarly, dispassionate inquiry? It doesn't take a rocket surgeo...

Because that's what his publicist or whoever put on the paper.

Wear whatever fursuit you want, but I'm not going to go along with it. You are wearing a suit. You are not actually a rabbit, and I'm not going to act out your fantasy world. You have to remember where I live. For half the year, if I want to get anything done outside (or even go outside), I need to be moving early. Also, the gym opens at 5.

A coworker was talking about an expensive procedure their kid needs and how awful it is that the procedure isn't free like it would be in Canada. This is not a brand-new cutting edge thing, but still relatively new and fairly complex. While I'm an idiot, I'm not enough of one to discuss health care ...

Well that's a take I guess. Thrifts in my frankly extensive experience tend to be pretty laden with the larger sizes unless you're on the upper east side. Yeah, the Goodwills around here tend to have plenty in the XL to XXXL range (and not much in small or med). Only the hipster vintage stores have...

As I look through his filmography, I think I've only seen 3-4 movies he was in. Of those, I'd say the best was The Limey. I like Easy Rider, but mainly for all the footage of Route 66 and Monument Valley.

#12 is straight from Seinfeld/Larry David, and holy shit, #13 is amazing: However, sometime in the next couple of weeks, Brown once again tried to take the field with his old helmet, which he had since had repainted with colors approximating—but not completely mimicking—the Raiders’ silver-and-black...

So remember the car you all helped me repair last year? 297k this week. Would Honda be interested in taking it back to inspect if I get above 300k so you think? No. Hondas are routinely logging 400 to 500k miles these days. My wife treats automobiles like Trump treats immigrants and her Honda still...

It's annoying when I can only half-hear a song at a restaurant. It was a great selection of uncommon 60s rock songs this morning, and I couldn't quite make out one. If I could've heard it fully, I'd know it. Maybe The Nice or someone similar. Considering where you live I suspect it was something fr...

Re: Music for the Masses

There's no way that Waters and Mason played the rhythm section on The Wall. Gilmour is probably the only one who's on the album. Even the trademark Waters bassline is doubtful. The bassline at the start of Comfortably Numb is way too warm and smooth to be Waters. I can get into this kind of conspir...
