It had been around 60 overnight for the past month, and then dropped to 42-45 in the last few days. Chilly for a run this morning.

Re: Fragments of an avotoast anthropology

I see only one brief mention in that massive article of the huge drop in average testosterone in the last few decades. That seems somewhat important and doesn't rely upon questionable social surveys for data.

that aims to rescue them from their day-to-day, all-female environment
I find this to be the most interesting part. Is the equivalent of K-6 in China actually as all-female as it is in the US?

It more just came to mean “lying,” which is dumb because the point was to describe something much more specific than that.
No, my dear, you're mistaken. It's always only meant lying. You must be confused.

I am excited for Tuesday. I can't wait for all the ads to stop and the signs to come down. And then the start of the endless bitching from coworkers about whichever clown they selected to rule over us.

King Soopers still sounds to me like a place Wile E. Coyote would shop. I keep wanting to ridicule it as the dumbest name ever but then I remember that I grew up in the land of Piggly Wiggly. Don't forget the Kum N Go. I've heard it's real quick in and out. Hit it and quit it. https://m.youtube.com...

Re: Vote or Die

The PA case is interesting because the decision relied on a state constitutional provision, not the federal constitution. A number of states have identical provisions to the PA one, so get ready for all the partisan gerrymandering suits to move to state courts.

I wanted to get a horror movie for Halloween, but the It remake turned out to be a kids adventure story.
You should've gone with Dead Ringers.
I've always been pretty meh on Cronenberg tbh.
Now your Halloween will consist of dbcooper hunting you down.

Levi's now makes an athletic cut pair of jeans (the 541). I recommend checking them out if you fall into the big thighs/big ass/small waist demographic. Because they're new and can't be found at outlets, they're outrageously overpriced for a pair of Levi's, but still way cheaper than fancy brands. T...

I hope Glenfarclas continues to fly under the radar. It's superior to Glenfiddich and Macallan at 2/3s the price.
I tried it last night. I'd say it's not my thing. It might have suffered by comparison, though, since my first pour was Ardbeg 10.

Cable TV must be fucking amazing if people are willing to not only pay $100+ a month for it but also endure a quarterly call to shitty customer service threatening to quit if they don't get a lower rate. I hate it when a business with a monthly fee offers a cheaper rate to new customers than existing ones. I don't mean a cheaper first month or first 6 months or whatever, but a cheaper permanent rate and won't offer it to existing customers.

My mother-in-law got tired of me saying this, so she knitted me a dick sock. I'm not sure how she thought that was going to help, since aft...
