Cardboard and nostalgia.
I guess I'm lucky I didn't have a severe reaction when my nostalgia antibodies kicked in.

Re: the list of those things which are not food

Based on the discussion in some other thread, I tried a chocolate moon pie after my hike today. Like more than a few junk food items, I'm baffled how it can have so much fat and sugar and yet taste like... nothing. Even cardboard might have more taste. If I'm going to have some junk food, I'll grab ...

I'm sure pride of accomplishment is a dumb psychology trick, but that doesn't change the reality that it feels more satisfying than wallowing in my own crapulence.

I admit I use the term "airlock" as the entrance to my house from the driveway, even though it is technically a vestibule, because if we don't open/close one door at a time and one of our dogs gets through both, it's an hour-long chase through the neighborhood.

I occasionally forget that Tesla is a borderline scam since there are so many Model S sedans on the road here. If 50% of the US sales are California, Phoenix must make up about 35% of sales. If I'm out and about, I see many of them.

Some young cowboys in Prescott Arizona decided to save money on a motel room by renting spaces in the parking garage right behind Whiskey Row. Cops woke 'em up to charge them with DUI, charges stuck because they had access to their keys. As a friend of mine puts it, a person can get a DUI in Arizon...

Today's run was 80+ degrees, 70% humidity, and 70+ dew point (at 6:30 am, no less). I don't know if I've ever been sweatier. I definitely didn't get any wetter by jumping in the pool afterward. Wait, I thought you were in the desert in AZ? Those numbers seem off. For Arizona, I mean. Your humidity ...

John Quincy Adams served in the US House for 15 years after being President. The only other ex-president to get similarly elected (although Senate, not House) was Andrew Johnson, but he only served for 6 months before dying.

Have you tried Honey Stinger stuff? The waffles are pretty good.
I have, and I agree. I like them on day hikes, but they tend to get smashed into tiny pieces on longer trips.

Give it a couple years until it's more mainstream, then the two of you should take a guided psychedelic experience. One and done, professional guidance, no stigma about 'being a user', no hangover.
There's a peyote church in Arizona that does this. Pretty tempted to try it out.

This is very strange to me; I was in college when that happened.

Redneck Shit by Walker Wheeler Jr is amusing. It's basically taking "Piss Up a Rope" from Ween's 12 Golden Country Greats and making an album out of it. "Fuck You Bitch" is definitely the highlight. Pitch-perfect parody.

Only broke 110 once in June. That's not bad by Phoenix standards (especially since that's the airport reading and that's the hottest place in the valley). Supposed to be 115 today, though.
