Re: Orange is the new President

The way to solve this is mandatory military service. If every fucking moron has been in the military, then more people will understand that they're regular people and not talismen of honor. Bush the Lesser and the Trumpster both found ways to avoid real military service, despite a nominal draft at ...

Re: Orange is the new President

Does it seem like this incident is affecting the way Trump supporters view the president? Most of my friends are progressives, so I'm only getting their reaction to things. On the one hand, it seems like conservatives would be clutching their pearls at anybody coming within 10 miles of disrespectin...

That is so sweet to see Arpaio caught on the horns of you can't get the record wiped once you have effectively copped a plea. http://d13beo3f7vpmvd.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/gallery/bull-gore/gore14.jpg I can't help visualizing it that way. I would want it thought of any other way.

I don't know what's been going on, but I've observed a noticeable increase in just terrible driver behavior just this month. Like the people having a tiff on I-83 into the city where one brake-checked the other in the left lane, so the guy swerves out around him and then half-drives him into the ce...

The Aviation Herald: http://avherald.com/ Basically it summarizes incidents in aviation, which usually aren't big enough to make the mainstream news. But it gives you a pretty good idea of how common aviation incidents are. For example, here's everything listed yesterday: Mount Cook AT72 near Duned...

Why has no one brought up that now what will happen is that the insurance companies will sue the government for money that the law says the government is obligated to pay. Everyone focuses on the fact that Obama was broke the law by distributing unappropriated funds, but similarly, Congress broke t...

Re: Orange is the new President

Nate Silver puts Trump's approval ratings under 38%. The trend has been steadily downward from the mid-forties shortly after his inauguration. Based on that, he is in landslide loss territory, but I suspect that a certain degree of sportsbar TEAM stuff would add to his numbers. The thing I note is ...

To go Marxist, I'd say it is the Lumpenproletariat. Trump is their kind of loud-mouthed boor.

Jennifer- section 4 can be invoked by the cabinet. They don't have to wait for congress to act. In that situation, all he has to do to un-invoke it is to send a letter to Congress saying "hey guys, I'm still the Pres, lol." Then, they can un-un-invoke it by sending another letter, at which point Co...

I did not pay a great deal of attention to the news during my recent trip to London, but from the little I saw, it is finally dawning on the Brits that the Europeans intend to stick it to them hard on the way out.

(And there's not a great deal the Brits can do to prevent it.)
