Re: Petty annoyances

One of my Amazon orders has not arrived because the USPS is claiming that they could not access our building, period. This strikes me as highly unlikely. That will randomly happen to some of my Amazon orders with USPS or UPS, and it makes no sense, because I get something from Amazon about twice a ...

Re: Random Observations C.A (306 pages is enough)

Wasn't there a case where a cop got fentanyl on himself while arresting a guy, and claimed to OD because of it, and so they charged the guy with additional assaulting an officer? I hope I'm misremembering, but unfortunately this sounds like the sort of thing that could happen. IIRC, it turned out t...

Re: What's Your Favorite TV Show?

I watched West Wing again a few years ago. The early seasons imo don't hold up as well as the later ones (which may not be a common opinion, and is not the usual for a TV show) Common wisdom is that the show declined when Sorkin was fired. If nothing else, the dialog got worse. Season 5? (I think) ...

I watched West Wing again a few years ago. The early seasons imo don't hold up as well as the later ones (which may not be a common opinion, and is not the usual for a TV show) Season 7 (most of it) is my favorite. I thought they did the election well. I normally hate the guy who plays Matt Santos,...

Re: MARCH MADNESS

Wisconsin getting knocked out really messed me up. It being year of the badger, I almost picked them as the overall winner, but did have them in the championship. Oh well! I'll still hold out that Duke will pull it off.

Re: What's Your Favorite TV Show?

Favorite show when I was in High School: The first 3-4 Seasons of Dawson's Creek that, let's be honest, I still watch clips of on YouTube when I'm really depressed. Pacey & Joey 4Ever. Beverly Hills 90210 until it pretty late in the series, actually. The fact that Dylan McKay died in real life is ve...

Re: MARCH MADNESS

I picked a different team to win than usual (I always pick Duke, and they are exceptionally good this year, but every year my friend Keith and I pick an animal for the year - unrelated to NCAA - that is our animal for the year, so I picked the team with that mascot. My friend, who is the reason behi...

Mine are done! I will probably regret my choices, but I have REASONS for my picks (ridiculous reasons) so I should really regret nothing.

I would like to but I don't know how any of that works. :(
I make my picks based on team mascots, so I know nothing about any of the teams. I think I won one year doing that.

Re: Make a box-office flop!

A movie about Apollo 12 or 14

The Fountainhead, with the gender roles of the main characters flipped. The Randroids, the main audience, would not stand for that. No one else cares about The Fountainhead. Make it about 5 hours long. Definite failure.

I'm tired of indulging scaredy cat mothers in most areas. I'm ready to support anything that makes them mad. Pay homeless people a dollar to talk to their kids. Replace regular playgrounds with thunderdome. Anything.
I support this and would like to sign your petition.

Oooh! That's very encouraging -- thank you!
There are lots of modern Orthodox women who cover their hair and get very creative with head wraps. Then when someone drags you on Twitter, you can accuse them on being anti-Semitic! Because that also always works out well.

Re: Petty annoyances

This was my morning at my new apartment: Furniture guys announce there arrival by leaning on the buzzer (later find out that this because they don't have my cell phone) and not stopping, which made me get flustered and I rushed out of my apartment...without my keys. Ok, so not a huge deal, the super...

I now own a townhouse somewhere between 3 to 4 miles of Bezoworld South.
I guess where I live could be considered Bezoworld North? Or Bezoworld East? It's going to be in the a borough, so snobs wouldn't consider it Bezoworld NYC, probably.

After many iterations of "living with roommates I found on Craigslist" I have reached the pinnacle of NYC existence - being able to afford my own place WITHOUT having a significant other. For a (very) brief period I harbored an idea that I wanted to move to Upper Manhattan, but it's super inconvenie...

I got on a bus leaving Port Authority at 3:45 yesterday afternoon. 7 hours later I got off the bus. It was one of the worst experiences ever. Our bus driver was completely heroic in his driving. We got stuck like 4 or 5 times. There were so many accidents and cars stuck or spun out along the Turnpik...

Apropos of nothing, the other day when I used a mirror to look at the back of my head (to ensure that my ponytail-barrette wasn't crooked), I realized the end of said ponytail was looking really shaggy: instead of being a more-or-less straight line, it made me think of stalactites hanging from a ca...
