Relampago. Nothing to do with meaning, I just like the way it feels in my mouth when I say it.
Relampaaaaago.

Not at all tinny.
It's got a sort of woody quality about it.

Note to all you people who think peanut butter and chocolate are a bad dessert combo -- you are welcome in this thread, but you have terrible taste. The terrible taste in question is the god-awful lingering taint of miscegenated foodstuffs. See this? This is my stink-eye, and it's pointed right at ...

TIL that it's genetically impossible for whales to have evolved from leg-having ancestors, millions of scientists are signing a petition to stop the teaching of evolution and evolution isn't real because Nazis wanted to kill all the Jews. Alternately, I met a moron at the museum. I loved this so mu...

I'd do a TED Talk in a heartbeat. It's not about whether they're really all that useful (or remunerative); it's about other people, some of whom are in positions of power and influence, hearing that you've done a TED Talk. That gets you a seat at certain tables that might not otherwise be open to yo...

Man, if only Fruitbatopia had fanatical stormtrooper squads like the Shemocracy to the north, I'd be sorely tempted to engage in a bit of extraordinary rendition, so you could declutter my old game room / new hobby workshop. Would you be willing to share photos of your object-arrangement successes? ...

Re: DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TWICE ANNUAL GRIPE THREAD

Jake's argument might have some merit but this: "How many hours "off" is London time? Are they ahead of us or behind us?" Is stealing a base to make it seem more complicated. *shrug* Those are the steps I go through, because I can usually remember that I'm eight hours off of GMT, but I don't call o...

But it makes it easier to communicate with people in those areas. Like I know if I call someone in London at 8PM London time, they're not going to be in the office. But at 15:00 everywhere, I have to do a lot of thinking. The things you need to know to call someone in London under the current syste...

In the next few days, I should hit 60 pounds down from where I started. Admittedly, tinkering with my body's settings to select "Easy Mode" may have robbed me of some of the satisfaction of succeeding at something that's super difficult, and ahahahahaha I can't finish that sentence. No ragrets.

And really, it doesn't matter what time the clock says to any of us, only that other people expect us to do certain things within a certain range of numbers on the clock. So it's not a clock problem, it's a people problem. I'd be fine with One World time, since then everyone would know exactly what...
