Re: The Sheriff Joe Arpaio Memorial Prison Reform Thread

That's great. I'm on board with it, but here in the USofA it's outside the overton window, got on a plane and flew to Canada. I'd settle for simply running the prison humanly, such that prisoners don't live in constant fear of abuse from guards and fellow prisoners. A group of Oregon state legislat...

Re: How's the weather? v. 1.1

On Sunday night it started snowing. This, in itself, isn't unusual; we get a little bit of snow once or twice a year, usually. Maybe an inch or two. Except it kept snowing. A lot. Got around 14" at my house, which is more than I've ever seen 'round these parts. And then the power went out. Turns out...

It's also worth noting that each of them picks up exactly where the previous one leaves off, so you can watch them in a row like one really long movie; just skip the credits and go straight into the next.

It strips away the weird surreal feeling footage of that time normally has. Especially the sped up feeling it h...

Kind of? The flexibility in trained staff isn’t adequate for variability in call volumes in many cases. I might buy that if I didn't get that message every friggin' time. When you have millions of customers, the load is statistically very predictable. They didn't say higher-than-predicted call volu...

You've gotta admit, though, if you want your time in office to look like the Golden Age of America, you've just gotta do two things:

1) Follow George W. Bush.
2) Precede Donald Trump.

All else will be obscured by the divine light radiating from the Halo of Not Being Either of Those Guys.

I remember the old H&R arguments about it. The correct position (in my not-so-humble opinion) always was: Yes, government should be out of the marriage business. But as long as that's not the case, gay couples should have just as much right to marriage as straight couples. John and a legion of troll...
