Re: OFFS: The Forsakening

During the 2008 World Cup in Germany, there were some dudes at the USA matches with Texas flags painted on their cheeks that my friends trolled by asking why they had Chilean flags on their faces. They were frustrated and asked, “Why is everyone asking us that?” That one is at least understandable....

But be careful. If your needle is worn out, it can end up summoning a scantily clad Beau Bridges.

Posey is a good pick. I could see Sarah Paulson too. Jane Lynch would work well, I think, if they parlayed her deadpan comic chops as mean sarcasm.
I can't cosign Paulson, but mostly because Studio 60 poisoned that well for me. Sorkin had me wanting her to get eaten by reavers.

I'm fine with a gender swap, but Dr. Smith needs to chew the scenery or gtfo. Parker Posey sounds horrible to me. I could see Lily Tomlin or Jane Lynch; or if they wanted a younger person, Kristin Wiig or Ellie Kemper or Leslie Jones. WHERE IS HIS BUSY BEE?!???? Though Kemper is welcome to star in ...

Okra and tomatillos are good options, if you want something a little brighter.

I assume that if bell peppers are out that, say, anaheims or poblanos are out, too.

Yeah, that cast and crew does not fill me with any sense of hope.
I am amused at the idea of Parker Posey as Dr. Smith.

Otherwise, yeah nothing there looks good.

Deepest snow I've seen out here in years I think. Huh. We barely got three inches here, and it's the super dry/fluffy stuff that's easy to get rid of. I swept the sidewalks rather than shoveling. This was preceded by one of the largest 48-hour temperature swings in Denver's record books, with a hig...

Plenty of non US places have walls, gates, and guards around their schools. That seems more reasonable than arming existing staff. Aren’t those places typically dangerous kleptocracies protecting the elites that have looted their citizens? Costa Rica, Turkey, and Spain? So yes, is what you're saying.

The writers for the 2018 season really need to be more subtle . I was a bit puzzled as to why those two would be their poster couple, anyway. Neither was even stock photography model-worthy. It seemed to send a "this is for people with low expectations" vibe. Not that there isn't potentially a mark...

I would say it was better than Marvel's average, but not awesomely spectacular or anything. Better than a lot of Marvel movies, not quite as good as the first Avengers or Guardians of the Galaxy. On par with Dr. Strange. I'll cosign this, with the addendum that The Winter Soldier is the best of the...

Same genus, so yeah literally. In fact, the name 'jackfruit' gets applied to 'breadfruit' sometimes. Or vice versa. Anyway, a bunch of closely related species are called jackfruit and breadfruit is in the same group of closely related species.

In the category of "Fruits That Kill With Gravity" I really like jackfruit. It hits all of the right notes. Tropical, floral, texture is interesting but not slimy. Drinking some cigar city brown ale. Chocolate wrapped in espresso. It is amazing. Everything I've had by Cigar City has been top notch. I really wish we could get it here.
