Re: Our Friends, The House of Saud

It's not sportsbar, it's dirty money . Honestly, I would trade Iran straight up for Saudi Arabia right now as a client state. Iran is much closer to liberalizing and the threat of shutting off western universities to Saudi elites is enough to keep them more in line. Also, Iranian scientists are bett...

Re: Our Friends, The House of Saud

Fear of a bonesaw explains why a Saudi journalist would react that way, but what explains the Erick Erickson and Federalist bros of the world? Yes, I am aware that that is some Catholic Sunday school shit like, "If God is good, why does he let bad things happen?"

Also, I will filibuster at length about why we should go for a hybrid Swatch .beats/neo-wadokei local solar time system. 6am will be dawn every day, 6pm will be sunset every day. (Or, using the system I suggested , 0d and 0n.) Jesus Christ, what a shitshow that would be. Longer workdays in the summ...

Re: Our Friends, The House of Saud

The questions about what if anything would have been done if this were a Clinton administration rather than a Trump adminstration ignores that this probably wouldn't have been done under a Clinton adminstration in the first place (or a Bush administration, for that matter). I'm not convinced. I don...

The only thing that would have made this better is if the trophy hunters got trampled to death.

The judgment of anyone who would marry Ted Cruz is inherently suspect.

omg "Fat Bear Week," I love it! And we have a winner! Of Beadnose, Bear 409, they say, "Her radiant rolls were deemed by the voting public to be this year's most fabulous flab. Re: Our Friends, The House of Saud

There are a whole bunch of people who are pretending that the real KSA issue is that the media didn't care about KSA before the murder. Yet there are a number of articles in the MSM about Yemen and from the concern trolls, they have written literally nothing about Yemen.

Jennifer, Jason is saying that just because someone was right, doesn’t mean they are worth listening to. Which frankly, all of us agree on. Some people discard it when the people who are right agree with our priors.

Jason’s logic is that: We should invade Iraq because he provides safe harbor to terrorists and our experience with the Taliban in Afghanistan shows that’s no longer a tenable solution Is a superior argument to: War is bad Similarly Jason argues that: Overthrowing Saddam will create an unstable vacuu...

Re: Observations of the Random sort

In coaching and in business decisions and probably in public policy as well, I am a believer in giving the most weight to the quality of reasoning and process of executing plans over a series of decisions that mattered and much less weight to outcomes. This is the Joe Flacco is not better than Dan ...

How many people that are not extremely online or in MA picked that up? The story overall? I had a work dinner on Monday night with non-online (and non-MA) people and they were all talking about it. Cool. Obviously impossible for me to pick up because I'm over here. I just find that 99% of the thing...

Some dude got 130 guns and ambushed a bunch of cops coming to arrest his son for pedo stuff, killing one. Yet for some reason it's not national media. I wonder why? *thinking emoji*
