One gritty reboot of a silly show (BSG) is enough.
I didn't say gritty, I said adventure.
I'm specifically responding to the Ian McShane photo. If he were in it, it'd be gritty.
The pain! The pain!

ETA
Okay, you're right. Too gritty.

Re: Food

I generally do two additions of carrots. Half at the beginning that cook to softness and give up much of their color and flavor to the broth and half in the last hour that remain bright and sweet, firm to the bite but with all the crunch cooked out.

That's not possible in a socialist economy. Making their own crypto is just another way of printing money.

One thing I hate about distribution lag is when you have a show aired any number of months prior to it being available in your locale. Versailles is a full year delay between the British market and the U.S. for chrissakes! Which is in part why I gave up on Versailles. Right now I have the same bitc...

It's the inherent perversion of Victim Culture. Sitting on top of the Victim pyramid is the position of greatest social power. To stay on top, you have to perpetuate the myth that you're on the bottom.

Yeah, there’s any number of hyperbolic breathless paeans to both movies as the first of their kind and “everything” because apparently being a cultural critic doesn’t imply any work to become familiar with culture. With Wonder Woman it wasn’t just the first female superhero, she was the first femal...

I had kind of glossed over that, since everything else on their menu has such goofy names (like "Chicken Fantastic" for chicken alfredo, and why does an African restaurant have chicken alfredo, I'd like to know). Googled a bit and it's supposed to be "suqaar" (basically a Somali name for stir-fry)....

Count me in with those who don't understand advertising. Most ads I hear make me less, rather than more, inclined to buy the product advertised, and some I'd never buy even to save my life. Totally agree. I don't understand how people grow up in this country without developing immunity to advertisi...

There must have been an overproduction of turkey last Thanksgiving because at the end of the year ground turkey went on sale. We wound up with around ten pounds of the stuff. Ready Player One looks dumb. At some point we need to have a year zero on pop culture nostalgia. I dunno. It looks okay, but probably too young for my geezer tastes. I like the way Iron Giant has become a 'we nerds know it's good' thing. As for pop culture nostalgia, year zero would have to predate...
