Re: Podcasts - Watcha listening to?

I've been enjoying Wine and Crime lately -- it's pretty well researched compared to the shit that is My Favorite Murder . However, it's definitely in the genre of "friends trying to crack each other up and getting distracted" type podcasts, where you'll either be charmed by their shtick or want to p...

Re: Towing the Lion

When you're using a coverstitch machine, how do you hem a round garment and end the stitching? Do you just sew off the edge and then use some type of frey fix?
Like Walder Frey?

Re: If We Build It, They'll Probably Still Come

Cards Against Humanity, an irreverent card game company known for its attention-seeking pranks, says it bought land on the U.S.-Mexico border to block President Trump from building his wall. The Chicago company said on its website that this was part of a holiday promotion, for which customers could...

Re: the list of those things which are not food

Lately feels like I can't go online without tripping over a fitness blogger talking about collagen in coffee. Maybe it actually does something, but it sounds like junk science, and maybe it's delicious, but all I can envision is a mug of black coffee with chunks of connective cow tissue floating in ...

I also confess I don't really like the dolman look. Maybe it's comfortable to wear? But to me it just looks like you cut the armholes way too big and then stretched out the torso to make it fit.

Re: Ladyfashun

Speaking of knitting, if I wanted to make myself a sweater, can you recommend a good easy pattern to start? Sure! The absolute best IMO is "Improv" which is more of a template for a top-down raglan sweater than a pattern per se -- because it's meant to give you a custom fit: https://fringeassociati...

Or there's this one, where the armhole starts practically at the elbow.

I don't understand this high-low shirt trend. It just looks like someone cut out the pattern wrong and then sewed it together anyway.

Watching Alias Grace and getting thoroughly upset at how bad life used to suck during the past.
Overall pretty good, although the "reveal" was stupid and pointless.

It certainly helped that the main actress was very attractive :)

Unrelated but I found the solution to my hair woes: Keratin Weightless Hair Oil. This stuff is the fucking market. Inexpensive and not greasy. I wash with shampoo every 2-4 weeks, and otherwise just water rinse and spray this on before combing.

1. I have nowhere to wear this dress. 2. I would never willingly pay this much for a dress. 3. I don't buy dry clean only clothes. 4. My post-baby boobs are too sad and floppy for a bodice like this. 5. ThredUP sucks and I shouldn't shop there. 6. I can't even tell if it's my size because it's fancy...

Re: Dreams (not those crushed by the weight of unfulfilled life)

I was back working at Midwestern J Peterman, and I was naked. All the desks had been moved around, and every way I went to go back to my desk was blocked. I also kept stalling; once I stopped to enter a caption contest on a cat picture, and once I tried to get some food off a snack table. Then I rea...
