Re: Small joys and random good things

Those white bin/drawer things in some of the cabinets -- it looks like they're not set directly on the cabinet shelves, but are mounted on some sort of roller/groove thing. Was that already in the cabinetry, or was it something you installed? I'm so sorry, somehow I thought I'd already answered you...

Watching RuPaul's Drag Race just makes me feel so untalented and unaccomplished and lame.
This is still true except now it also makes me feel old.

Edited to add: especially when they say things like, "A reality show challenge? I was obsessed with the Kardashians when I was in high school!"

Re: Inequality

If the Atlanta suburb (Stonecrest, IIRC) actually does succeed in enticing Amazon to come here and create a shitload of low-wage no-bennies jobs, the state's going to spend an additional fortune on welfare benefits for the employees anyway. Unless a lot of people are going to move into Georgia in o...

This is The Grylliade Tuco. You've barely wrote a thimbleful of nothing thus far.

Re: Dreams (not those crushed by the weight of unfulfilled life)

I continue to be baffled and amused by what David thinks constitutes a weird dream. He has the most boring dreams ever. And he cannot get any perspective on that. The other morning, we both said to each other, "I had the weirdest dreams last night!" And his were: in one a rhinoceros walked up to our...

Not-a-spoiler comment for Justified Season 6: Garret Dillahunt has just shown up, and I only know him as Jody Kimball-Kinney from The Mindy Project -- and it is weirding me out way too much to see him in a serious role. I keep on wanting to say, "People actually die on this show! Go back to work wit...

Re: Bosch (including season 4 spoilers)

Oh, I forgot to mention that I think the bike killer resolution was indeed laughable, although it adds support to my claim that I've been making since season 1: Crate and Barrel are the real heroes of the show. ;) Did they ever explain at all why some dude was riding around on a bike stealing phones...

I don't use shampoo at all. I only even rinse it with water every couple of weeks. (I'm sure that makes me smell like ass, but that's a different issue for a different day.) I leave in conditioner or moisturizer every 3-4 days. Aphogee two-step protein treatment every six weeks. Still feels like cr...

I used a Bisquick pizza dough recipe from the Betty Crocker website, and it didn't turn out anything like "classic" pizza dough but I enjoyed eating it about 10 times more.

Re: Bosch (including season 4 spoilers)

Just finished the season. I was very pleasantly surprised by how they balanced the main plotline and the grieving process. I was sure it would tip too far into one or the other. Hooray! I did think that the resolution of the main murder was kind of lazy. Walker pulled the trigger himself (bleh) and ...

Tone is important especially for something like history with so many sacred cows out there. There were a number of ways those observations could have been made without sounding inflamatory. Indoctrination no, but it is poorly written and a little tone deaf. Agreed. I don't think EVERY highlighted p...

Re: Bosch (including season 4 spoilers)

That sounds promising. I am feeling more optimistic now.

I really like Bosch's house. Every time there's a night scene there, I think about how I would never ever ever want to live in L.A. -- except maybe if I had that view.
