I just got a '4th of July Savings' ad on Youtube for Sears. Doubly strange because Sears is completely gone in Canada.
To be fair, Canada does have a 4th of July. Comes right after the 3rd of July.

Re: Home $weet Home

Yeah, wiping spills and crumbs from the counter right into the under-mounted sink is great. Both places before this had drop-in sinks with the big lip and seals. This is muchly better. I've never liked the look of an under-mounted sink, but hadn't considered this benefit. I might change my tune yet...

Can I also just say how much I hate the phrase "luxury yurt"? And yes, I am aware of what a grim commentary it is on my television habits that I've heard that phrase so many times.

Re: It's not the size of the screen...

I watched one today with an off-grid tiny house being built by a young white couple (of course) where the husband was a professional snowboarder (OF COURSE). But it was, shockingly, a tiny house where the bedroom was a real second story (not barely-room-to-sit-up loft) accessible by stairs instead o...

that still doesn't make the first two sentences of that original news story contradictory
Oh, I don't think they're contradictory, just misleading to my brain. When I read the first sentence I immediately picture something deliberate.

Re: It's not the size of the screen...

I just started watching Building Off the Grid with hopes that it would be a how-to show -- not as awesome as This Old House because nothing is, but still providing some step-by-step info on choosing a solar panel, or installing a rainwater collection system, or whatever. Alas, it is bog-standard "We...

Re: Legal Eagle Question

That first sentence seems misleading to me. "Sent to" implies (to me, anyway) that he intentionally typed up an email to the lawyers with a child porn video attached. Whereas the second sentence sounds more like he dumped a whole bunch of files onto a flash drive and a child porn video was among the...

I'm bewildered by anyone thinking a woman becomes more fully a man's by carrying his child. Sorry, buddy, maybe you'll be one of the lucky ones, but she's probably gonna kick you out of bed during pregnancy because she's so uncomfortable, and then refuse to let you touch her for at least six months ...

My personal favorite part is when they say they know he won't fail because he's too much of an egotist to allow himself to look bad, and then the very next sentence is "he has bad hair."

I will admit that since I first made that post*, I've come around a little bit to SOME of the picture-in-picture videos. There was one I saw the other day about trying to survive on a Minecraft server with a difficult player, and the gamer's eyerolls and facepalms did make it funnier. Also, it's pre...

Video game gameplay videos* (there's a phrase that sounds full of redundancies) that have a picture-in-picture of the gamer's face. It adds fucking fuckall to the finished product to be able to see your slack-jawed mug staring down at your computer screen the entire time you're offering commentary....
