Re: If We Build It, They'll Probably Still Come

So this is what it's come to: An agency I dislike has arrested someone for something I think is a bullshit reason, and my thoughts are, "way to go, guys."

We're sure getting that border crisis now.

Re: If We Build It, They'll Probably Still Come

So, this is what's going on down here. http://www.newsradiokkob.com/2019/04/19/aclu-nm-now-in-the-border-game/ The really scary thought to me is not whether psychos like these are nerving up to massacre a bunch of "Invaders" and throw them in shallow graves, but whether it's already happened at lea...

Re: No Depression - The (alt) Country Music Thread

You can never have too much Neko. If you like dark stuff, Jason Molina (Songs: Ohia, Magnolia Electric Company, Pyramid Electric Company) is the guy. I still miss him. I risk the wrath of online mobs by recommending Ryan Adams right now, but Whiskeytown are as essential as the Jayhawks, Old 97s, or ...

Re: DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TWICE ANNUAL GRIPE THREAD

I can't even imagine not watching the sun come up. Ever been past 60° north or south latitude at the time of the (respective) summer solstice? Not yet. Spent a summer up in that Kamloops/Quilchena country, that's as far north as I've been. Pretty long days, fer sure. And what a beautiful part of th...

Re: News that could have been in the Onion

Man, when I was in my early 20s, getting drunk and getting in a fight were just two things that went together so well, though the world conspired to keep them apart, like peach cobbler and green chile or Heloise and Abelard, and though I don't indulge in either any more, I get a little misty-eyed an...

Re: Food

To me, there's a big difference in Mexican food from place to place anyway. Even just within states, but especially north to south. You want a good rant sometime, ask a Norteño why those Chilangos call things quesadillas even though they have no cheese. Pinches chilangos locos jodidos.
