Re: Video Games!

I was able to get in Google's Project Stream beta. It's another attempt to stream a game from a remote location but be playable through only a browser. They provide Assassin's Creed: Odyssey for free as the test game. I can say it's been pretty good so far. I haven't noticed any observable input lag...

Re: Orange is the new President

Lunchstealer and I posted the same picture; I just posted the tweet that it came from. I read Shem as saying that our picture is the same as the one a few posts previous, i.e. the original one. And I'm saying that there's a pretty big difference. Though I suppose that whether the difference is majo...

Re: The son of "What the hell are YOU staring at?"

I finally got around to watching Interstellar last night. Man, that movie was a mess. I wanted to like it - an SF movie that's not about ray guns and killer aliens? - but the storytelling was a trainwreck. There's a global crop blight and a little girl visited by "ghosts" and a top-secret NASA prog...

Still no fan of Trump, but from a purely aesthetic view, I really dig this painting, especially the artist's tactful depictions of lesser RPOTUS'es: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/that-painting-of-trump-having-a-diet-coke-with-abraham-lincoln-is-now-hanging-in-the-white-house/ar-BBOotrb?oc...

This was more my thing. It's like if Paris Hilton was invited to a Monster Truck rally and wore these to "blend in."

Re: I bless the rains

Really, this is just how power has worked through human history. The developed world lives in an unusual bubble of taboos and standards that boil down to, "We don't do things that way". That's certainly true, but I was hoping their government might figure it out and escape some of the stupider shit.

I'd very much like to see how he identified the accounts. Also a lot of internet savvy types might have been using Russian VPNs or the like.

David read me Patton's speech to the Third Army, and I don't know if I'm more in love with, "I don't want any messages saying 'I'm holding my position.' We're not holding a goddamned thing. We're advancing constantly and we're not interested in holding anything except the enemy's balls" or "We're g...

Re: In the Not Too Distant Future...

The faster pace really works for me! But I'm weird like that. I don't mind some faster paced things (like the only movie reviews on youtube I can bother to sit through are Bob Chipman's, and he's going 5 miles a minute), but I just felt on MST3K like they throw in anything they could conceivably sa...

I still can't figure out how I feel about the new show. The writing is pretty good but the execution isn't always there. I've only watched a few so I might watch some more and see if I start to get used to it.

3) You keep talking about software changes, but this isn't about software changes. It's about the ability to edit insecure databases. You have to change the numbers in the database with something though. Either you are going to use faked or stolen credentials, which is easily identified and traceab...

Re: Putin on the Writs

I'm not saying you can't cause problems if you fuck with voter rolls, but I can't imagine that you could have THAT many people showing up on election day and being turned away, enough to affect a national election, and not make it immediately obvious that something was amiss. There are roughly 4800...

Ah, so, since there were mere "attempts," it's perfectly acceptable for states to refuse federal funding to secure the next election--and a sign of conspiratorial freakoutness to be concerned over this? In all seriousness, it seems like ever since Trump won the election, you've gone out of your way...
