I think KC:D has found the perfect balance between stats, player skill, and story telling. Extremely well-done game from a KS funded studio.
I've been wanting to check that one out, but I have so many RPGs in front of it still in the backlog.

Re: Video Games!

Active RPG combat is always a tricky balance. You want stats and stuff to matter but you also want to have player skill matter as well. It's very easy for those things to step on each other's toes.

The Worst Patients in the World This is an interesting take on things. I wonder if some it has to do with American attitudes on customer service in general. I've heard that there is a much higher expectation of accommodating customer service than here than in other countries. This also leads me to ...

The intelligence community doesn't trust Trump with secrets because they think he's in Russia's pocket: https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-news/pentagon-trump-cyber-attacks-on-russia-848695/ And I'm the crazy one. Right. No they just don't brief him on the details because he's been show...

Video game gameplay videos* (there's a phrase that sounds full of redundancies) that have a picture-in-picture of the gamer's face. It adds fucking fuckall to the finished product to be able to see your slack-jawed mug staring down at your computer screen the entire time you're offering commentary....

Here's a completely incoherent bit of nonsense that was published in the Opinion section of the NY Times. The author starts by positing that we're going to have a post-scarcity economy in the future, then says that the only reason we have scarcity is capitalism, then says that the obvious way forwa...

Keanu in cyberpunk 2077 doesn't make me more excited about the game bc that initial game play demo was not too hot. I am reserving judgements and a lot can happen in the next nine months. I don't know, I'm pretty sure you couldn't have cast a better Johnny Silverhand. Although I'm kind of curious a...

I'm on Steam as Hammerlocke and literally everyone thinks it's because of Sir Hammerlocke in BL2. The origins of it predate the first BL and is esoteric so I just say yes sir hammerlocke. I do like BL2. It is tedious but for some reason in a way that allowed me to play through. Unusual for me. I th...

OK, yes. Makes sense; the 'other-ing' component of the incels' dysfunction makes them worse. Like, murderers vs. suicides. In some cases, literally. This is something I've been pondering WRT mass public shootings. They're hugely self-destructive acts, often ending with suicide-by-cop or straight su...

Also notice how in the council scene the dialog went straight from "we've had enough of your words Tyrion" and Tyrion agrees that he sucks, and then *immediately* segues, with no eliding words that indicate why he should get the floor after everyone agreed his prior efforts had been futile, into hi...
