Re: Dancing With the Dems

(In case it wasn't clear the source of my confusion is the Smiths song "Panic" which makes reference to discos.)

Panic! at the Disco

Part of my confusion/recoiling in disgust is also because I still always think Panic! at the Disco is like, a Smiths tribute band or something. And there's basically no less-Smiths song than "High Hopes."

Re: Dancing With the Dems

I just realized I do know the "High Hopes" song. (I've been seeing a lot of references to it/videos of it on Twitter but obviously I have my sound off and don't watch videos.)

It's...not good.

What's so bad about eating bugs anyway? Bugs are full of protein! Yeah the trad narrative about how the media is laying the groundwork for us to all to be forced to eat bugs is...even dumber than the one about how "we" all live in pods (except later in the thread that guy reveals he is living with ...

The actually amazing thing about this is that the idea of "alienation" was invented in...the 1800s. And was _specifically_ being applied to the Industrial Revolution working class that he's talking about in those tweets.
Also specifically applied to like, everything in 1919.

Every new thing E Warren says makes me dislike her more. People were totally not alienated in 1919. Modernism, what’s that?

Oh yeah I forgot to explain that part.

No, that part is about how this is what my mom is like, and obviously I grew up with my mom as the avatar of the feminine, and so that's how I feel about women.

I am also just anti-volume. It's a grass-is-always-greener thing but seriously fuck people who have such nice flat straight hair that they actually want more volume. It's like complaining about being too thin.

Mexico is not exactly nearby.
It's only the other country bordering the US by land and a Hell of a lot closer to Texas, California, etc. than Quebec. :)
Yeah...but it’s nowhere near Quebec, which was my original point. I think the idea is, Quebec is the Mexico of New England.

I mean, I don’t care, I obviously don’t want to live there myself, but in my experience it’s a popular destination. And it definitely has its draws.
