Poster #1: I hit the jackpot today at Goodwill! I found a custom knit, fabric, and thread for my serger!
Poster #2: The Goodwills in my town are poopy. They only have holy old play clothes.
Wouldn't that be the Salvation Army store?

Re: Food

I do love me some island fried rice for breakfast. Normal fried rice, use spam for the meat, with some napa cabbage for the veg. Add a fried egg and a couple of slabs of spam on the side.

The Duke Boys' car notwithstanding, the 'real' thing is red rather than orange.
Well, that and eight zillion flags and bumper stickers.

But red fades pretty badly.

Snow. 4" overnight of light powder and still coming down. So glad I spent 30 minutes Tuesday plowing the drive.

I miss 70. We won't see those temps until late June at the earliest. We got about 2 inches of snow over the weekend and now we (hopefully) start the long thaw.

Re: Petty annoyances

IANAL but have you looked over your lease agreement regarding "things that might get you evicted"? New management or not, there has to be grounds for eviction. Non-payment is obvious but there may, or may not, be things in your lease agreement that spell out what behavior is "eviction worthy".

Well shit, I just accidentally binge watched the entire first season of Norsemen on Netflix. Nice light humor spin on the life 'n times of everyone's favorite raiders. One thing I hate about distribution lag is when you have a show aired any number of months prior to it being available in your local...

I really don't understand how advertising works. Everything about car dealership commercials screams DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALER / CHANGE THE CHANNEL NOW! to me. But they continue to make stupid, annoying commercials so they must work. I concur with this statement. I'm constantly looking for the fi...

By "popular on that channel" I am of course referring to "popular with the advertising agencies deploying them". I can't speak to the emotional investment of the viewers. Not really my place.

Yikes! I just saw the Trumpy Bear commercial on actual TV! AHC -- the so-called "American Heroes Channel" -- airing a documentary on "Hitler the Actor: Part 2." That great American hero, Hitler. In the category of "Fruits That Kill With Gravity" I really like jackfruit. It hits all of the right notes. Tropical, floral, texture is interesting but not slimy. Bonus: if you buy a whole one you can break out the machete to get into it. If you don't like juicy fruit gum this is not the fruit for ...

Drinking some cigar city brown ale. Chocolate wrapped in espresso. It is amazing. Everything I've had by Cigar City has been top notch. I really wish we could get it here. This mix is a bizarre mix of absolutely humdrum stuff, unusual items, and "Oh, fuck you." What I find fascinating about it is that it's British. So presumably the Indian and Continental stuff would be more readily accessible and things like "Root Beer Float" and "Hot Dog from a Cart" may be exotic....
