Re: Bill Clinton, #MeToo, Feminism, and 1998

I think everyone has just cared their last care about Bill Clinton, however unfulfilling and unjust that may be.

Bonus content: but we're not allowed to say we don't care about every single slash any given injustice so put your back into it.

Re: Private Money!

If you had money in the bank, you wouldn't spend BTC on expenses. That's my point. How is the asset disposed of besides liquification into fiat? Assets have a use value as well as a monetary price, right? BTC will be without intrinsic value if you can't cash it (as in S. Korea), but why would you ca...

Re: Private Money!

But if one day your BTC is worth millions, why spend it then, when you could wait and it could be worth billions? This sounds like a commodity, not a currency. You don't sell .000001 shares Apple stock to pay rent if you have enough USD in your account, because the Apple stock is more likely to gain...

Re: Video Games!

I landed on Sins of a Solar Empire rather than Stellaris because I wanted the heavy RTS style, and the game holds up. I'll probably pick up Stellaris after this big update, so I can get the heavy Sim/RP/Strat game play.

Re: Private Money!

Why would I pay in BTC when it could be worth more if I sit on it for a month?

Wat?!?!? How does someone not "Kirstjen Nielsen" claim they don't know that under oath.

I wouldn't assert a 'common knowledge' fact under oath, and I think her reply was acceptable "I would imagine that's the case" .

Black communities were very vocal in their support of anti-crime, anti-drug policies all through the 70s and 80s.

Wouldn't the linked recipe show as a photo tile or whatever?

How about a social media platform that allows you to share the micro communities that you're a part of already?

Edutainment was already in my autocorrect :(

I have been tasked with generating an ongoing series of short discussions on topics related to employment, advancement, communication etc. as part of my Job Readiness workshop. So, because the very best idea I was given by management was "Try a cool TEDTalk", I'm fielding suggestions for videos, pod...

"I'm not nearly as generous, because how do people come to those supposedly rational, non-racist beliefs?"

The same way people come to oppose gentrification.

Re: Private Money!

No, Warren, you said it was "super easy to spend crypto". Now please explain how I take my existing $20 FRN and transfer its value to my buddy over here via BTC. Or, if it's easier, tell me how to aquire the equivalent value in BTC without trading US FRN, and transfer it to him. Your choice. You're...

I mean a ban just reinforces the de facto situation that it's a pain in the ass to spend cryptoBux on legit transactions... No it isn't. It's super easy to spend crypto, legit or otherwise. Unless you're saying it's hard to find legit vendors that accept crypto. Which is still the case, but won't b...

I think you're right about a tech lift. I think a protocol designed for analog, human speed use is probably reaching natural limits now that we can robo dial for practically nothing. But I wonder, if there's actually nothing that can be done, why aren't businesses being spammed as hard? Their number...
