Re: Random Observations C.A (306 pages is enough)

Being tall : a guy :: big boobs : a girl

Douglas Adams' "Restaurant at the End of the Universe" had a creature that would come to your table and offer advice on ordering it's meat. Like a talking cow with a death wish.

Ignoring any claims about right to life and pretending that religious Christians don't believe what they say they believe (they *really* just want a subclass of impoverished women because they're misogynists!) is a classic example of the Left being deliberately provocative.

Re: When journalism goes bad

Cold water requires body heat to warm, obviously, and some people have argued that this takes energy, and thus is not as efficient as water which is already at body temperature. You do absorb minerals from water, and actual laboratory-pure water will strip minerals from pipes and such, so it's not c...

Teabagging is so old. Are these people going to bring back that "Drops of Jupiter" song, too?

I met with an employer who is desperately trying to get her industry peers to help fund a shuttle from the inland towns to the resort towns on the coast 30 miles away.

Too Like the Lighting by Ada Palmer. It's... genius? She has one of the most original visions of a future society that I have seen since Banks wrote the Culture novels or Mieville wrote The Scar. Outstanding characters, smooth narrative style, and tight story concepts that illustrate the difference...

Due to recent events, I've been thinking things like "maybe I should just go work on an oil rig / join the Foreign Legion / renounce the material world and walk the earth learning Kung-fu."
