Re: Orange is the new President

Romney might care about his legacy in Utah among his co-religionists. Maybe a bishopric or a replica set of golden plates that only he can look at.

Re: Masculinity, so fragile

I find it refreshing that someone looks at problems that people express themselves, and then looks for accessible frames of reference to present solutions in a digestible format. I don't think he is forcing specific universal truths at all, rather, I think he is pointing out ideas that can form a fo...

This is a comment he made on reddit so nuanced and footnoted it ain't. I don't know if he took issue with the message, so much as pointed out that yes you can infer a political statement from it. And if it's explicitly political then is it compromised by insincerity in the message? Is a campaign ad ...

Re: Masculinity, so fragile

My point is that if you have to salt your process with concern for ROI, corporate image, and the unwillingness to offend people who agree with you slash buy your art, you end up with something that's not quite art, but also cannot really be a true statement of any particular, sincere, political valu...

Is an issue of the NYT art? Is it political propaganda? I don't think his point is strong or relevant, but I don't know that he's flat out wrong. Let's look at the top 10 books on "The Greatest Books" and see how it lines up. Don't quibble about the order or if they're the right top 10, but they're...

If Frozen isn’t art, it’s becsuse it’s a corporate consumer product, not because it’s political propaganda.

I don't see how either disqualifies it from being art.
