Re: Podcasts - Watcha listening to?

I'm listening to that now, it's wild. Having Jon Robson talk interview blue collar Texas football coaches with His. Careful. Diction. gives this piece a strange wildlife documentary feel.

Re: If We Build It, They'll Probably Still Come

CBP should take a cue from Latin America and just put broken glass in concrete walls. Cheap, no reason to steal it, and the aesthetics are familiar to folks from south of the border.

Re: The Sheriff Joe Arpaio Memorial Prison Reform Thread

What do we do with people who have harmed others because of greed? Is that economic desperation or mental illness? As for your simple demarcation, how do you feel about a friend who, seeing a man trying to break into your house, gives that criminal the key that you have entrusted your friend with? I...

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty.

I'm sure the fact that people are using a RnM clip to eulogize him will be a relief to his friends and family.

Re: To Infinity War and Beyond: the MCU Thread with Spoilers

I'm so disappointed, because Punisher was the one comic my mom didn't like me to read, because it was non-stop violence and military pr0n, with a few explanatory panels to tell you what type of ammunition just blew off those dudes' faces. Which is why I read it.

New 5thC: Kmele and Yang.

Does anyone have a good explanation for why prices won't just rise to wipe out the gains of UBI? Is it because the payments are balanced against not using other safety net services?

Can anyone tell me if Frank Castle actually does any punishing in Season 2? Season 1 was glaringly punishment-free.

Re: News that could have been in the Onion

Yo, it's not hard to walk away from a fight but it's the stakes, not the odds. I've never been in a legit fight as an adult, doesn't mean that it can't happen. I believe I did say I thought it was silly. I see daytime business ties around here, but it's a lot of banks and insurance companies and I t...

Re: DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TWICE ANNUAL GRIPE THREAD

I'm with Jasper. Having To Go To Work looms over me, so the best thing to do is wake up early enough to prepare for (read: shower and coffee) and arrive at work, and no earlier. Leaving work and knowing I have 3 hours of daylight is an amazing feeling. Also, waking up really early on a beautiful day...

Re: News that could have been in the Onion

Real somewhat embarrassing thing about me: I don't like to wear a tie to public stuff where there will be drinking/carousing because I do not want to get into a scuffle while I'm wearing a necktie. It's kind of silly but when I think of someone getting their hands on it in anger I get all cold becau...

Re: DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TWICE ANNUAL GRIPE THREAD

I at least want a mnemonic so I can remember if I like Standard or Savings because I get confused. I'm a simple man: I like summer better than winter. I can't be troubled with hours flipping back and forth like distracted birds. Just pick one. Fuck.

So what do I need next time? How much of your homework do I need to turn in? Re: Fragments of an avotoast anthropology

I'm terrified that my mom (70 years old) will have a serious health crisis before I can regain some kind of economic stability, because I have no idea how I would provide for her besides becoming a personal health aide and assisting her with obtaining social benefits. To be frank, Taktix, you don't come across as speculating. Then when people are incredulous regarding your dot-connecting, instead of ...

Re: The argument on the subcontinent

bean at NavalGazing.net has noted that most countries which *can* field, for instance, surface-to-surface anti-ship missiles, do not actually have more than they carry in the launch tubes. I would not be surprised to hear that other smaller nations had very small reserves of most war material, altho...
