Re: The Road to Damascus

I would imagine that setting demolitions is best done by specialists with time to get it done right, not in a hurry, and a man portable amount of explosives is not going to do things like wreck and crater roads and buildings, whereas a few 500lb. bombs does it really easily.

Re: Putin on the Writs

"the usual deniers" is a pretty uncharitable way to describe "people who disagree with me". I admit it is a bit untoward, but it's not unfounded like, say, an accusation of mental illness for disagreeing. And when one spends the bulk of this thread trying to warn those who one thought were friends ...

Thanks for the input. I think I used that Krups at a former residence and liked it, will probably look for it at a good price.

Yeah, personal experience says that suits still project power. At least, if you're wearing one that fits well on purpose, rather than looking like you stuffed yourself into one because you had to. I wear a suit (no tie) most of the time now. It very definitely gets good reviews. I'm often the only ...

My pixel 3 is doing fine, except Pocket Casts now hiccups and pauses unexpectedly sometimes. Lock screen is fine, although I also use the fingerprint reader 9 out of 10 times.

I'm wrapping up Ken MacLeod's The Corporation Wars trilogy. 25 light years from Earth around a habitable solar system, mining robots gain sentience and AI-directed 'Dis-Corporates' awaken human mind-states from storage to put down the 'bots in realspace using combat frames and equipment. Human mind...
