Re: Putin on the Writs

Looks like I'm not the only one who thinks Trump is intentionally wrecking our agricultural economy: https://www.cnbc.com/2019/08/10/trump-is-ruining-our-markets-farmers-lose-a-huge-customer-to-trade-war----china.html But I'm sure it's just a coincidence. It's not like globally-warmed Siberia will h...

Re: Putin on the Writs

Jason,

Regarding Trump's treatment of the press, are you saying you're not concerned that what he's doing is wrong, or you're not concerned what he's doing will be effective (iow, the free press will survive)?

Re: Putin on the Writs

Taktix, I don't know if I've done the stuff you're talking about, but I don't think you're mentally ill or crazy. I just don't come to the same conclusions you have, given much of the same information. I would ask you, do you think we also are reasonable people (those of us who you respect and este...

Re: Putin on the Writs

Sorry, I resent being called crazy in this thread and by private message for having a different opinion as to the threat level of everything going on vis a vis Trump and Russia/Putin. You're free to think I'm misinformed and welcome even to name me as such (then I have a chance to defend my statemen...

The Senate Intelligence Report (yes, that Republican Senate) said that Russia had achieved the capability of altering vote totals (not registration data, fucking votes) in 2016, and that Putin chose not to use it: https://www.nytimes.com/2019/07/25/us/politics/russian-hacking-elections.html?smid=nyt...

Re: Putin on the Writs

To be clear, Jack Posobiec isn't a Russian agent, he's just an idiot and probably a white nationalist racist. (It's hillarious when he leans into his 'naval service expertise' because I know exactly what his sort of billet does when he was at Naval Intelligence. Not saying it's not worthwhile, but ...

71% are in private facilities, as of November 2017. Which appears to be the most recent data since ICE hasn't submitted any new numbers since. So unless they built a bunch of new jails over the last 18 months, I'd imagine it's close to 71% or higher... ETA: Also, why bring up "the Blues"? Putting t...

Re: If We Build It, They'll Probably Still Come

At the risk (more like ontological certainty these days) of being labeled a Nazi sympathizer, I'd say that on my list of complaints about the internment camps, prisons, jails, etc., the fact that a number of them have been contracted out to for-profit corporations is at or close to dead last. For-p...

Who was I listening to recently? They said something like: Celebrities are foolishly disparaging Trump. Not just because they overplay their hand, but they are throwing away such opportunities. Look at Kim Kardashian, she understands how to be a celebrity. Trump likes being seen with celebrities, h...

I'm pretty sure that the written documentation indicates that the goals of the facility involve humane treatment of people being accorded all due process and legal rights as their immigration process unfolds. Re: Putin on the Writs

Yes. Russia picking fights and annexing former member/client states is bad, but not new, and not a sign of impending extraordinary action against the US. I wasn't aware NATO was a former member/client state... That's actually incoherent. Retract that. I read your post as "Picks fights WITH and anne...

Re: Orange is the new President

I've been dismissive about impeachment. It's a leftist fever dream that ignores political realities and has been fueled by a sort of aggressive self delusion about what crimes the president has committed. I'm happy to give Amash a standing ovation for falling on his sword, but not for a moment did ...

Once installed, Russia will have backdoor access to NATO systems including, most notably, deployment positions of those stupid fucking F-35. Not accurate at all, my friend.
