Since Denver and St. Louis were tied with seven votes each, and the other cities weren't really in the running, I decided to unilaterally limit the final vote to the two major party candidates!
What about Rio? Las Vegas? Amsterdam? You know, the fun places.
Oh right, Gryllicon. Best make it St. Louis, because it's in the middle of the country. Denver is in the middle of Colorado, which is in the middle of nowhere.
Well, we've got the Q pretty much locked down. In fact, I'll put KC Q up against anyone's. But you guys have better pizza.
And, while I'm saying nice things about StL, at least you've figured out something useful to do with your old train station, other than turning it into a giant pit in which to throw money.
I should not have voted since I realized I will be out of the country most of 2010 - however, if you were to have it late, late 2010, I would definitely be in St. Louis.
If I happen to find myself in the financial position to take even a small vacation this year, given the newfound realization that the cost of a mini-vacation and 9-hour car trip from Cleveland to either St. Louis or Montreal, QC is more or less equidistant and equivalent, I must admit this is not a point in favor of St. Louis. :\
You're in Cleveland, right? If I and/or others were to make the drive, we could stop and pick you up - you're almost on the way between NYC and St. Louis. I-80 to Cleveland, then I-71 and I-70 on to St. L.
That's nice of you to offer, JD. It would certainly help defray gas costs for those of us in the same car. I guess in that case it would come down to whether I could make it on a given weekend and if I have the funds/time for a vacation at the time a date is decided upon.
If you'll come, Smacky (and assuming I can be there), I'll totally bring you some sort of little, cheap, likely crappy and probably unwanted fake polygamous Internet anniversary gift.
Same goes for Jennifer. If both come, it would be a once-in-a-lifetime family event!
:)
EDIT: Ignore this post if it makes you *less* likely to attend. ;)
And yes, kittens are an acceptable form of currency in Taktixia...
Of course, as a libertarian, you should take a look at the current standings and see that your vote would go for very little, because it won't make a difference! :P Ahh, the market...

I think its cute how DAR's and Jake's avatars are looking at eachother.... I have nothing else to add to this thread since I wasn't allowed to vote... and I couldn't attend even if I wanted to. hrrmph!
The 9th-13th of June and the second week in July are out for me. Other than that, I'm pretty much open. Except for the 14th-16th in May and the 17th and 18th in April.
Stupid reserves.
April and May are probably the nicest months in MO, apart from fall.
In the case of fall, late Sept and early Oct. are usually nice.
June is often pleasant for the first couple of weeks, but heat and humidity set in by the latter part. July is hot. August is insufferable.
The farther down the road it is, the more likely I'll have finally started my job and will have money, and will, therefore, be able to attend. August-October would be peachy.

Go Denver! The Broncos suck, but go Denver!

I might be able to make St. Louis. I (almost certainly, but nothing is ever 100%) will not be able to make Denver.

Hey, look! I'm not a troll!
I'm a big fan of The Middle of Nowhere, especially when The Middle of Nowhere includes pretty mountains.
But I live in St. Louis, so...
Re: Where should Gryllicon 2010 be held? (Please vote ONLY ...
Of course I'll be in St. Louis, if it's there. Denver, I'm not as sure about.
St. Louis is a fun town, honestly. And as a KC guy, it pains me a bit to say that.

That's okay. We feel a little sick when we have to admit you have better food than we do. ;)

I have to admit I am less likely to make it to Denver, frankly. St. Louis, I might actually drive.

If you drive Rachel, I for one will chip in for gas.

Re: Where should Gryllicon 2010 be held? (Please vote ONLY ...
As of this comment, the standings are:
Denver 6
St Louis 10
The vote total for Vancouver isn't being reported.
Re: Where should Gryllicon 2010 be held? (Please vote ONLY ...
Hey, if St. Louis wins, I'll bring Gooey Butter cake.
Re: Where should Gryllicon 2010 be held? (Please vote ONLY ...
Tic tock.
I think we should declare St. Louis the winner and move on to fixing the dates.
Re: Where should Gryllicon 2010 be held? (Please vote ONLY ...
Agreed. Gryllicon 2010 will be held in St. Louis (or its immediate environs), and Wix will bring cake!
The next question: When?
Re: Where should Gryllicon 2010 be held? (Please vote ONLY ...
The cake is a lie.

Just realized I could probably make the drive to St Louis sometime during the summer. Denver I couldn't do.
